Just remove the seat, the one bolt holding the tank, the three machine screws holding the console and the fuel line (don't forget to turn the petcock to OFF). Lift the rear of the tank and pull it out. The vent line under the tank will fall off as you pull the tank out. I've done it at least 100 times while messing with everything else on the bike.

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.
