You've done pretty well to get that out of the stock tires, and you may be able to get a lot of miles out of them yet. But getting a good set will make your bike seem like a whole new animal. I replaced mine at 8,000 miles with lots of tread left on them and never regretted it.

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.
