OK I love my seat, just to clarify I was giving my bike the once over on sunday, cleaning, chain, etc. The seat has always wiggled a little in the front, the tongue that slips under the tank is a wee bit small, so I had wrapped it in cardboard which helped, but it seemed to be wiggling again. I also noticed a little tiny rust spot on the bracket in the back. So I took the seat off, figuring I would remove that bracket and hit it with a shot of rustoleum. Turns out, one of the two bolts holding the bracket TO THE SEAT was loose! So just an FYI, check em. Maybe invest in some split lock washers. I popped a little blue loctite in there too. I will also do a better job of wrapping that tongue thing to reduce the wiggling, which I think is the culprit here.

I replaced that black bracket with the OEM chrome one when I got the saddle. The tongue does wobble a bit causing the saddles nose to wear the tanks paint. Can you access your fuse box with the corbin saddle in position?

Yes I can I think... But its tight. Honestly I wish the seat was a little wider for my fat arse. I know they will "rework" the seats, but I don't think making it wider counds, right?

I'm fine with the forwardness of it, just wish it was an inch or so wider, no overhang

sorry fellas but my single corbin is just perfect for my backside. I couldn't be happier with the comfort factor so far and pretty sure the long road trips will be fine. Thanks for the tips on checking the seat over too

Guys - how does the look of the Corbin compare to stock - is about the same size and footprint? Also, does the seating height or position change much from stock?
I think the stock seat's height is perfect, but after 400 miles in the last two days I can feel my tailbone and it's not ecstatic.... So I'm considering the Corbin but gosh that's a lot of dough to cough up!

I think the footprint is about the same, but the seat does sit lower and the rear of the seat angles upward a little for support. I was lucky and got the seat ($324 shipped) prior to their all at once 50% price increase. I absolutely love it and consider it (with the floorboards) the best comfort mod. I couldn't do an hour in the Triumph seat without the tailbone hurting. Keep in mind if you choose to go with the Corbin, textured leather, ie. baby alligator, colored piping, and chrome studs are at no extra charge.

IT pushes you forward a little too. Mostly because of the mounting stud for the back rest.

I want to get one for Wendy because of her back problems. She was in for surgery today (minor to try and avoid magor) We can't afford that kind of money for a seat. We think she would benefit from the back rest. I'll probably make something.

IT does make a huge difference. I also think someone said they got like a weight lifting back belt and wear that under their jacket, similar results. MUCH cheaper. Certainly worth a try.

she already has a brace but won't wear it due to comfort and look issues. Thanx for the suggestion though it's appriciated and welcomed.

Have her try one of those little cheapy slip on air cushions, my seat is a board and I can get an extra 100 miles with one of those things. I picked mine up at Carlisle bike week a couple of years ago for about 20 bucks. Good luck with the surgery, hope all goes well.

Thanx guys. Don't get me wrong every ride I have been on where I say 300 to 400 miles in a day she has been on with me. Just looking for a way to ease the pain at the end of a long ride.
Thanx for the wish of luck. Today was several injections of some kind of steriod will be very painful for a few days then any benefit she gets should start to kick in. It was an epidural thing but not anesthesia. If this doesn't work next step is major surgery. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Dog, fyi and Wendy's, I had a disc replaced at the L5 S1 2 years ago with an prosthetic called a prodisc prodisc . So for me, it has been my mission to create the most comfortable riding position I can think of and I believe I have done that. I can assure you both then the corbin seat and backrest work extremely comfortably for me, and in fact, I couldn't be happier. One thing though, to fully take advantage of the backrest, I changed my riding position to be totally upright. Now having a speedmaster you understand it requires a slight lean forward position which I believe defeats the purpose of the backrest. What I did was replace my risers with Duece arrangments. I'm not saying this will work for Wendy but for me at 6' tall, I'm in heaven as I cruise along. I hope this info helps Wendy as back pain can really spoil a good time. One last thing Dog, I'm now finishing off this project by buying some better shocks so that the jolts are better cushioned.

I am getting 4" tall pull back risers for Wendy with the America bars. I'll mull over your advise on the Corbin since you know the pain I am talking about. She could tell you what vertabrea they need to fix all I know is its lower back.

great about getting the risers and America bars. That'll do the trick for sure. Yeah the Corbin package is dear as, but worth it IMO. Maybe it can be a longer term plan for you guys.

Is there a name for this Corbin disease? Sounds like a new strain of Milwaukee Madness, but they're not made in Milwaukee. I've owned three Corbins, even replaced an ugly Russell DayLong Saddle with a Corbin on a GoldWing. Corbin says it take 1500 miles to "break-in" their seat. What is actually going on during that 1500 miles is your hind parts are being molded to the POS from a kiln. Get a saddle, and quit complaining.

Let me clarify: Corbin makes saddles for our bikes, period. They are "off the shelf, cookie cutter pieces of terra firma bricks" that happen to match our mounting points. Corbin can best be described as a POS. If you own a Corbin, be proud. They are a far cry better than any stock saddle, but it can be argued that a custom saddle beats an off the shelf saddle everytime. I SO ARGUE! Experience beats an argument EVERY TIME"!!! (i've owned 3 corbins). Good Luck, Dennis

if you were going to do that just customize your own seat pan. Seems sensless to spend that kind of money to then just make what you want anyway. I am about to do gel insert covered with memory foam to Wendys stock seat. Plus probably some studs and conchos I might even go for making a leather cover. I have a walking foot sewing machine that doesn't get enough use!! LOL

Well Dennis, if Corbin is a POS, mine is the best POS I've ever spent money on.
Off the shelf? How come it took them 4 weeks to pick mine off the shelf?

There you go again, commenting when no one is talking to you and you don't have a FRACKing idea what I'm talking about.
Corbin reworked (customized) my seat for free. It was a bit too hard when I got it, so I sent it back and they reworked it, changing the foam. Now it's perfect.
Please, just shut the FRACK up. Just once. ONE TIME.

well then say that. All you said is what about a customized Corbin. You didn't say what about having Corbin customise one for free. I can't read minds and neither can you obviously.

Guys, for the sake of peace and brotherhood(smile), why don't you have your seat made. That way you can set the thickness, the width, how much scallop(dished), and firmness that fits you.......angelis

I think that works great if you have a good local shop that can build it for you. I've often thought about stripping my stock seat down to the pan, trimming it up a little and taking it to the local leather shop, but I don't think they have the experience with seats and they'll charge me an arm and a leg. Doing it mail-order is a pain. After I had Corbin re-work the foam density, I love the seat. Is it the best? Probably not. But for the amount of travel I do, which is nowhere near Iron Butt levels, it's fine. And honestly? Initially I only got a Corbin for the backrest.

Yeah, I considered all my options but what convinced me also was the backrest. As I've already said and I'm not just saying it because I have to, I really am very very happy with the Corbin solo and backrest. Every time I sit on my bike and go for a ride, I feel like I am part of my bike. This is because the Corbin's design helps to lower me somehow and because of this I'm not just sitting on top of the bike. I've followed the Corbin seat threads now for months and it seems that some are happy and some are not. Maybe it's got something to do with the design of the sitter. I mean we are all built differently, and some have big behinds and some not. Now mine is normal and certainly I can buy a 92cm waist pair of jeans that fit nicely. Perhaps this debate and the suitability of the Corbin could really get down to the basics and lets just see if those that don't like them have, should I say, a well fed backside and because of this, the corbin is uncomfortable. ???? I'm not having a go at big people by the way. I'm just really curious why some just don't like the Corbins. There has to be a common thread surely and maybe this is it. I would be great if we could get to the bottom of this
