I'm kinda liking my new avatar.
Along a similar thought - I attempted to put a smiley in my signature and it will show up in the preview screen but not in a post? I have noticed that a few have links in their sigs, thought I'd try a smiley. Any ideas or just not possible?

OK, can't seem to be able to change my Avatar either. Apparently you can change to a custom avatar. When I try to do that from my Home page, a picture of someone's speedo comes up and some stock avatars. Can someone post a few steps on how to do this?

1- Create or find an avatar that you like 2 - load it upto a sever online somewhere (or get the address of the existing avatar) 3 - Click on "My Home" 4 - Click on "Edit" for "Personal information, email, password, etc." 5 - Select "URL to your avatar" 6 - Enter the address of the avatar in the field just below "URL to your avatar" 7 - Click on "Submit"

Thanks Soren! Swear I did not see that step to input a URL to the Avatar. Might have to tinker with the size. I appreciate typing up the steps. Probably a few other folks will as well.

Soren,
I found a cool avatar and saved it to my desk top under "my pictures" I type in the path to the avatar and get nothing. What I'm I doing wrong ??
If it does work does the guy with a question mark change to the avatar ??
Thanks,
John

If it is an avatar you found online somewhere, you can just enter the address of it in that field for the avatar URL.
If it something that is only saved on your computer, you will need to upload it to a sever on the internet so it does have a URL (internet address).

Find the ORIGINAL picture, right click - go to PROPERTIES - left click then drag over the address to highlight it, copy (CTL+C) the complete address in the little box , paste (CTL+V) that address into the "URL Address for avatar" field on the member page. Done.
A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice.

If I delete my avatar pic from Picturetrail, will it dissappear from here, or is it here to stay? I guess what I'm asking is, is the avatar or any other pic for that matter stored here, or is only the URL stored.

Only the URL is stored. So if you delete your pic, your avatar will disapear as well.

Is it my imagination, or did the avatar url field vanish?

If we're going back to just the stock avatars could we have the pretty blue one back?
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.
