Its official riding season has hit Ohio
I know this because at our first stop today I got asked the magic question
What year is that Triumph 68 or 69?
Followed by the standard when did they start making them again??? Ahhhh spring is here!!

Looks like it may be 70 here in CT on Tuesday. We had a good
rain last night, that washed away most of the remaining snow,
and salt. I hope that's it for winter.

I spent yesterday afternoon replacing the tail lights, and
re-wiring my new(used) trailer for the run down south.
Grease the wheel bearings, and I'm good to go.

Already antsy, still a month to go!

How could anyone possibly mistake a new one for an old one they aren't that close.

Did manage to get out for 170 miles or so today. It rained a little bit at first but cleared up. It was a bit chilly though all day.

It was beautiful along the coast.

I'm jealous ,I thought about going out today but was only in the upper 40s and decided against it. I'm itchin to go for a LONG ride. Might do something on Tuesday supposed to be in the lower 60s. The perks of owning my own business I ride when I want!!

Awe c'mon it wasn't that bad! I spent yesterday cleaning it when it was in the upper 40s, and today riding for a couple hours, well maybe just about an hour. Kinda chilly on the hands, even with silk liners (I think I have bad circulation), but last nights rain REALLY did help the roads! Only a little sand at a few intersections.

Great riding here in Cincy this weekend.

Everybody and their brother was out on a bike.

I'm pretty certain, I had the only Triumph!

You know it's riding season when you down a can of spinich, shout "Tha's all I can stand 'cause I can't stand no more", kick the snow out of the way and ride anyway.

Should be a decent riding day here today, and the road has dried out enough to get out carefully. BUT, one of the organic horses is in need of medical attention so I probably won't be riding a mechanical one today.

Here is a shot of my BMW the day I brought 'er home. I have cleaned it up now and ride it from time to time. Believe it or not in the pic it only has 4,000 miles on it. Bought it from a kid whos dad gave it to him. Dad had traded a panhead for it and kid bough a new Harley and lost interest. It cam with all the missing bits like a good seat and tank badges. Notice the Earls front end with swing arm and shocks. I painted the bars , hub caps and air filter grey. All I did to make it run was clean the carbs and points , check the mag timing and put gas and fresh oil in it. Been riding it ever since. another cool thing is the one knee pad on the tank has a key and is actually a glove box/tool box. Put the key in and the knee pad hinges down to expose a box in the tank.

You know it's not quite riding season when you are the only one at the dealer on a bike.
Or the fact that every other bike on the road waves back at you just with the same moronic grin that you have on.
Or that 6 hours after both of your last rides it snows.

I like that old BMW now thats a bike with personality and that you don't see too often up here.

It's much nicer now!! and thanx for the compliments. I love that bike. I have been riding it now for over 10 years and other than a few oil leaks from age (it has never been apart to change any seals) It has been totally trouble free. Oh by the way I only paid $400 for it too!!

I love BMWs, i've hade three. Two boxers and a K Bike, but none as old as yours.

Always loved the boxers more than the K Bike. The boxers all had individual character. My old BMW R100RS is still one of my favorite bikes ive ever had. Wonderful machine. Put over 100,000 miles on that thing and it never missed a beat. Brilliant, just brilliant.

Did you know that those boxer engines were so dependable that they used them in small helecopters too back in the day? And I agree that bike is wonderful to ride just wish it had a little more power.

I didnt know about the Helicopters thing. I knew that BMW started out building aircraft engines. The Blue and White emblem is supposed to resemble a spinning propeller.

If i ever get to live out my dream and have a garage full of bikes then there will always be a couple of Beemers in there. An RS, and if i can find one a nice R100CS. Hard to find original factory built CS's. But they're out there.

I have a "garage full" now it's actually my dining room! LOL That BMW was always my dependable ride if I wanted to go but was working on my other registered bikes that one was ..and is... always ready to go. This year all I need to do is change the oil check the air pressure in the tires and put fresh gas in it.

Fair weather is one thing, -10 wind chill is another. Especially when you put two feet of snow around it. If its not a sheet of ice I'll burn around town, but getting out on the open road is painful.

Riding season in the NORTH EAST when.....most people have light jackets on and some guy goes down the street on a Harley with no helmet, sleeveless shirt, shorts and tennis shoes. Must be spring.

Okay...I give up. Ya know that self-satisfied little shot I gave you guys who know what the term "riding season" means....well....I just returned from the doctor's office for a much posposed physical that I should have had done years ago.

It was a beautiful morning here today in L.A., and so I jumped on the BA to ride to the doctor's office and have the learned physician take that friggin' rubber-gloved finger of her's....well, you get the idea here.

Well ANYWAY, after I was poked and prodded and drained of precious bodily fluids in order to see how many more years I'll be around in order to bug all you knuckleheads in the future, I walked out of her office to see threatening skys that promised some of that there wet stuff falling from them.

I figured I could maybe make it home(about five miles) before that happened.

WRONG!!!

Do you guys know how much HAIL the size of friggin' marbles HURTS when it hits ya smack dab in the friggin' face???

We got hailed on for a bit coming back from the NE rally. It was odd took me a few knocks before I realized what was hitting me. I think hail should be nominated for the worst possible riding medium.

Today was great!! Close to 300 miles. Was 85 where I was. It was cool when I left and cool when I got home but bulk of the day was T shirt weather. We went and toured the Yeungling (spelling?) Brewery. Was pretty cool and even better it was free!! Nice 12oz sirloin steak for lunch/dinner. warmed back up to body temp and slapped on my plate!! MMMMMMMMMm Wendy and I had a great time sand or no sand!~!

Thankfully I have never had the pleasure of riding in hail. I know hard rain so I don't want to experience that....EVER!!(as Jamie would say)
