Alright guys, we're at the end of our rope here, we have tried everything to download photos in the photopost....It's telling us that the size of the file we are attempting to download exceeds the size allowed. The size of the file is 1380kb, and we are allowed 2000kb. We tried a 670kb, and again, tells us we are in exceedance. BAMOM has zero photos at this point, and says she is allowed 2000 kb.....what's up?

I believe the photopost upload page states you're allowed a 200kb photosize for individual photo's not 2000kb.

Most photo editing software allows you to resize digital photos, probably even the program that came preloaded on your computer.

MS paint will let you resize a pic. Open up the pic, it should open to its acutal size, resize it to approx 4x5 by clicking Image/ Stretch /skew and enter vertical and horizontal values that make the pic smaller. I usually start at 50% and work down. Use the "save as " to save the smaller copy of your pic and not replace your original.

I use Microsoft Office Picture Manager. Pretty sure it came with my computer... Company laptop and all Anyway, one of the featers is photo compressing. And it gives you options for sizes, document, web page, and e-mail, each smaller than the previous. I would think some other software has options like that so you don't need to mess around with numbers, just the option. Annnd as I opened photopost to try it myself I see you uploaded some!! What did the trick?

OK now you should be able to follow the pic posting instructions in the help section.
Open the pic in photopost (I prefer to have a second window open so I can swap between photopost and the forum). Right click the pic, select "preferences", copy the properties of the pic (NOT the URL of the PAGE), and then in the message you are typing hit the button below the text window that says "image" and a box pops up. Paste the properties in there (make sure there aren't 2 sets of "http") and hit ok. Boom done.

Use ImageShack. There's a box you can check that will automatically resize your image. Use the one that says 640x480(for message boards).

I simply open in paint crop it where I want the stretch scew option lets me make it the size I want then save as and done. Only problem I had was actually getting it over to the darn post.

right click the pic...select open with....choose paint. Once it is open in paint there is a little black dot half way down right edge of pic and half way across the botton. Put your cursor on the dot so that a small black arrow appears that points both ways. If you then left click and hold that you can drag it in to where ever you want to crop it to..same with bottom. Then at the top click image and select flip rotate and select rotate by angle and check 180 then you can drag the other 2 sides then click image at the top again ..select flip rotate and rotate it back. Then click image at the top again and select stretch scew and in the stretch enter an amount you want to change the size by and enter it I normally enter 80 and 80 and if it is still too big do it again until it is down to where I want it. Then click file and select save as and save it and you just changed the size!

The absolute best graphic viewer/graphic resizer is IrfanView. The best part is that it is completely free. Soren

Resizing is a hassle. I just put my pix on Webshots. Webshots will take any size photo. All you do is copy and past the URL to this or any other forum. It's free as well.

Yep, did figure that out and it works great. I just double click on the photo, it pops up a screen where you can chose the size to display from 100 to 600 pixel. You just highlight and copy the "post in a forum" line. Simply paste into this dialog box. I no longer use the "Instant UBB Code>Image" shortcuts.

Oh ok, so it tosses in all the appropriate code for ya. I've noticed a few guys using that. I also think maybe you can just post the image, then go copy that whole string into a url dialog box.... Maybe I'll try it pic OK maybe not...

If you resize a picture to 640x480 and save it as a jpg rather than a gif or a bmp it'll easilly fit into the restrictions and still be easilly viewable.
