Not necessarily a picture of yourself, just a cool picture you might like to share with all of us.................... This picture is of a stone wall I took in Browntown, Va, while Surveying a few years ago, It was the first pic I ever tool with a digital camera, I kind of like it. The second one is a pic of me traversing down the Hazel River in Culpeper, Va. with my Robotic total station.

As a few of you know, I've been hankerin' to own a Beck(Porsche replica) 550 Spyder for some time now, and have been reading up on these cars to catch up on any particulars regarding the ownership of these little beauties.
And as many of you know, back on September 30, 1955, James Dean, that icon of "The Rebel", was killed driving one of cars to a race being held in Monterey CA. I had heard that there was going to be somewhat of a 50th memorial celebration of his death on that same day and at the same place in the year 2005, and hearing that quite a few owners of these cars would be in attendance at the crossroads of CA Hwys 41 and 46, where he met his fate, I figured I'd ride the BA the 200 miles up to that central California spot, situated in basically "the middle of nowhere", to see if I could talk to these owners and get the in's and out's of their experience with these cars, firsthand.
When I pulled into this little roadside cafe that served as the central meeting-place for this shindig, there was this one guy there who quite a bit resembled the dead icon, and I found out that he was a computer programer who moonlights part-time as a James Dean impersonator in commercials and print adds. He was also wearing a copy of the red waist-length jacket made famous by Dean in the movie "Rebel Without A Cause".
50 years later, and to the exact date and time the notorious accident took place, this guy hopped into one of the owners' 550s and drove very near to the spot that it happened, and there were quite a few of what appeared to me to be professional photographers taking pictures of this event. So I took out my trusty(and cheap) little digital camera and took this shot.
I think it turned out pretty well. Kind of appears that "The Rebel" had returned for a moment to see what all the fuss was about......
Yep! As The Eagles said: He was too fast to live, and too young to die.
Cheers,
Dwight
(BTW...when I get one o' these little babies, don't worry...I'll try not to end up the same way)

Don't park in a handicap spot in Prague Or in front of a hydrant... What you can't see is that car had a boot on it first, as did a couple cars around it. So they got a warning!

I'll link a few while I'm at it - some are blurry - shot on film then digitized with an el cheapo scanner.

Definitely not my coolest, and I even have better ones of this castle at home on my other computer, but still a pretty cool place to visit for anyone lucky enough to be able to visit southern Germany or Austria. Schloss Hohenwerfen in Werfen Austria (south of Salzburg), scene of the fictional mountaintop castle in "Where Eagles Dare" WW2 Movie, as well as home of the National Police Museum and a Falconry Institute (truly impressive). But one could very easily see this being a Wehrmacht or SS stronghold in WW2, and it is in extremely well preserved condition....

I do not know what time of year it was Stewe. I just love the pic. Those Prowlers look cool but if you have ever been under one or one of those Vipers you wouldn't belive what JUNK they are. The welds aren't any better than a K car and the frame tabs look pretty ****** weak too where the suspension attaches.

Wendy and I enjoyed Gettysburg and have been thinking about touring historical sights in VA.I like the loom pic. Interesting story about Gettysburg. 2 things left off the tour are the cannon that fired the first shot (and you drive right by it) and on the back side of one monument is a statue of a dog. There is no inscription but if you ask a ranger they will tell you about it. Her name was Sally she followed her master through battles and got seperated from him at Gettysburg and stayed with the wounded troops nursing thier wounds. She was later reunited with her master. But unfortunately was killed in a later battle. Most never know her story. Took us a week to tour Gettysburg because we didn't do the drive by and glad we didn't we did by the longest CD supposed to be a 6 hr tour but thats only if you don't stop and look and read. If all you are going to do is drive by why bother? You miss most of it. On a side note my mom used to teach at Moravian Academy and the last of the Mohiccans is buried in that cemetary there.

I am looking through some of my pix and I have soooo many cool shots I could fill a hard drive. We toured Gettysburg some really good ones there in fact I'm gonna post one Wendy took. Jim Thorpe has a jail with some famous executions and a hand print by a wrongly convicted man that won't go away been painted over washed away bleached etc... We youred Eastern State Penn in Philly. The one from the show Ghost Hunters where they filmed the ghost on the tier. This was taken at sunset at The high water mark in Gettysburg. Fartherst penetration by the south..Pickets charge.

I'm ignorant to picture posting, computer challenged, lazy
a$$ed, dog who has a digital camera. I take some nice shots,
and can download them to my laptop, and even e-mail them.
But, as yet, I haven't managed to post 'em here.
Since Martin, and I, are going to trailer down South w/ my P/U,
there will be plenty of room for my camera, laptop, and maybe
even a printer.
He can show me how to work all this crap!
If it rains!
