The point is to enjoy the benefits of new technology if it appeals to you. Take digital cameras: without them, I'd never take so many pics and be able to enjoy them so much. For me, I'd like to see where I am and what it's going to take to get to where I'm going because a compass is useless in PA and I enjoy exploring. It's a fun and informative technology that interests me. Paper maps are outdated before they're printed, and are a pain to use while riding.
