the next day over to chy's that bike was bent back into shape, cleaned up, and greg rode it home. but there was another guy that went down at the same time, that broke his arm and left his bike at chy's untill he could get back to Ga. and if i recall right i think his bike was back together also.

If you can believe it, here's a pic from the next day right before I rode home. The pic would a better before/after pic if it was taken from the other side but it wasn't so too bad.  The guy at the back with his arm in a sling is Dave who was 2 bikes behind me and also went down but he didn't fare as well as I did. I lucked into finding a big patch of mud while Dave went down earlier in the curve and in a lot of gravel. My bike actually looked worse than it was. The headlight in the earlier pic was completely filled with mud before the pic was taken. I was worried that the headlight lens was going to be broken, especially with the big rock I dug out of it but fortunately it had just been pushed back into the housing (and the bulb still worked! for a little while anyway). I was 30 when all this happened with only 7 months of bike ownership and a little over 3000 miles under my belt but it definitely increased my riding experience tenfold (and may have given me a gray hair or two). The first pic was a fresh faced guy eager to ride his new motorcycle and the second pic I was glad I wasn't hurt but worrying about whether or not I'd be able to ride it home. Fortunately I was surrounded by great folks eager to help me out.
