John, I'll be going over Saturday to my friend's near New London and meeting you guys on the roll in at DnD.
Just my two cents, I'd like to have breakfast where I know I can get a chance to chit chat, ya know? Are we going to be able to have some table at Stash's or something? I dunno, just thinkin that may be our only sit down time or whatever... Just thinkin outloud. One reason why I suggested DnD. Then again, you guys will be getting up a lot earlier than me and may have already gotten something to eat!

I second that.
Motion passed.
Jack is the ride captian and offical planner.
Hey, captain whats the paln ??
Oh Great i was afraid this would happen,,,well this area is kinda my "turf".
So what I'd like to do is try to hit Stash's at 10:00 or so. Catch the breakfast buffet.
I think we need a meeting place just outside New London if we are coming in in 2 groups. One from SE new haven area. One from NW. So i think final hookup would be DnD that benny and I discussed. On rt 85 just outside new london. If both groups could get there around 9:30 and pull out about 9:45 ish be plaenty of time to make stashes by ten.
UC I think you need to try and coordinate folks coming form your area, need to decide if you want to go the extra miles and meet in Glastonburry or not.
Now let me throw a curve that could make it easier for folks coming from NW. Instead of Glastonburry meet about 10miles father down RT2 in Marlbough exit 13. Reason there is DnD and gas there. And would be much easier getting off and back on RT 2. Could save a little bit of time. By not dealing with Main St Glastonburry trfiic and traffic lights.
If thats agreeable, meet at marlborough DnD around 8:15 give everybody a little time to streatch legs and gas up. Leave around 8:30-8:45.
Take rt 2 to rt 11 colchester to rt 85 salem, to DnD just outside new london pick up benny and whoever, then into new london.
Ok Feed back questions? Sugjestions?

Sounds good to me. There are gas stations right across from the DnD on 85, but it's a kinda big busy street, so I'll try to BE gassed up by then. 9:30 is no problem for me at all.

As the crow flies its only 5 or 6 miles from there to stashes so you can push if you have too.But there is another gas station on the same side of road as DnD just past Mall ville. And my time table could be adjusted.Sunday am Traffic thru there is pretty light up until 10ish.

For all concerned, I'm in SW CT, and I'm trying to rally the troops in my area for the ride up. Worst case scenario, is I ride up solo to meet y'all in Glastonbury, or wherever.... Benny's gonna do his pond crossings at New London, so he won't be riding up w/us.

Marlborough is fine
Does this sound right? (From google maps / directions)
Take exit 13 for CT-66 toward Marlborough/Willimantic
Keep right at the fork, follow signs for CT-66 W/Marlborough/E Hampton and merge onto CT-66/Hebron Rd
Turn left at S Main St

Uncle Charlie, Big-Poppy, LJ3000,bennybmn. I'll pm you guys my cell number tommorrow night. The plan. Meet at DnD parking lot in Marlborough off RT2 exit 13, I will get there around 8:15. Leave there NLT (no later than) 8:45. Follow RT 2 to Colchester. RT 11 begins, follow RT 11 to Salem (rt 11 ends 4 lane hyway to nowhere you'll see what I mean). Left at end of 11 onto RT 82. Rt 82 to Salem 4 corners right at light onto RT 85, RT 85 to Waterford DnD just outside Mallville (you'll see what I mean by mallville) ETA 9:30 ish meet benny. Leave there NLT 9:45. RT 85 into Downtown New London. 85 becomes Broad Street. Follow Broad St to Jay Street right onto Jay. Jay Street becomes Truman Street. Follow Truman to Shaw Street. Follow Shaw St to Pequot Ave. Stash's is on Pequot. ETA 10:15 (fashonably late?) Have breakfast with bunch of greezy bikers. Benny will already have eaten so he can stay outside and watch bikes just kidding ben. Leave Stash's when ready probly when reat of greazy bikers do. Follow Pequot to Neptune Ave. Neptune Ave goes straight to Ocean Beach Park main parking entrance. Long range weather calls for sunny but cool. Note: April 15 is also opneing day of CT trout fishing season. (it always rains on opening day)

Eh - New England forecasters have been so far off in the past x months that they may be guaranteeing us sunny & 60 by calling rain.

As of now, with the forcast in mind, I'm not gonna make it. I'm trying to concentrate on gettin' things ready for the trip down south. Seemingly simple jobs are taking all day. I guess I'm gonna have to bless my bike myself.
This morning's temps were almost as cold down there, as here. I need to e-mail Al Gore! Uncle Charlie

I know what you mean. I got a new brake cable today, but at 35 degrees when I got home, I just didn't feel like bleeding brakes in those temps. I'm into a back rest and new mid ship peg brackets projects too. Feeling too logy to work on either today. (Yawn.) Don't know if I'll get to them Saturday, but hopefully by the end of April.

I wonder if there's a good dyno shop 'round the Western NC / Gatlinburg, TN area? I'd kinda like to see where I'm at for mixture and all throughout the power band.
I read an interesting observation that all the plugs will tell us is what the last mile prior to parking was about.

Guy's,
Looks like we will be "ok" for Sunday sunny and pushing 60, they have pretty much have taken the snow out of the forecast for tonight and tomorrow. Sat. they say is the pick of the weekend sunny and in the 60's.

Still says rain for here on sunday. Generally the forecast for here and CT is the same, so I'll have to keep watching. Even if it's sunny in CT, I'd rather not ride home from the ferry in a cold downpour... But we'll see!

To blurt the obvious -- 4 days from now is an eternity when it comes to New England weather patterns. We could have a locust plague and 3 meteor storms by then. I suppose I'll have to see what Sunday am brings.

Wow big weather change in the forecast for Sunday, was to be 52 sunny, now 40 and chance of rain. I hope that forecast will change back to warmer weather. Alternatively, as a life long New Englander just wait until Sunday morning. Would like to attend but current forecast is a little too cool for me. However, we will see Sunday morning. Will write later for possible meeting point in Northwest CT b4 ride to Glastonbury. Waterbury. Ride over Avon Mt into Bloomfield is shorter that slab ride of I 84.

Jonathan -- I'll be winding my way to Wolcott down route 8 to Poppy's Palace, precipitation pending, then over to Marlborough, perhaps via route 691 or 66 to hook up with folks there, then on to Submarine Town from there. I'll look you up along the way if things work out.
