An alternate route for you, slab it out to almost 395 and take an exit for Rt 1. in Old Lyme (basically the downhill side of that big bridge). Take Rt 1 for a while and bang a left on 161 in East Lyme. It's a fairly obvious intersection with a light, McDs, etc. That brings you up to 85 right about where I meet it from Oakdale. Bang a right on 85, enjoy the scenery around the lake, go under 395 and stop at DnD.
