Dang Matt,
Here I am being vane about Vera's bat'trees white writing showing. Looks like the inspection/tax sticker on your ride really stands out . What was it? A median where you wiped the saddlemans off, slow speed too as I recollect? Good review on the KDrives as you have had them now for some time.
Wow... I really should look back at older topics more often. Yeah I've had the K-Drives now for over a year and I'm just as happy today as the day I got them. Not the world's cheapest option but about the only truly integrated one.
I've still got the old Saddlemen's (in fact I'm about to bolt them onto a friend's Kawasaki), but the right one got scraped pretty bad and the yoke lost one of it's little clips. It was a traffic island I hit in the middle of the road, about 50kph/30mph but since it was sort of a "double" island (due to the flat wheelchair access in the middle) the bike bounced a lot, ended up airborne & up-side-down with me flying ahead of it, and landed on the right handgrip & sissybar then scraping it's way down the road on the right side. I was very lucky to get away with a severely bruised right thigh/groin and a smashed up helmet.
The big ugly sticker below the battery's what we call a "registraion label" and they kindly give bikes the same size sticker as they do cars here. (Aint they considerate?) They have to be displayed on the left side of the bike to be legal and since they're so hard to hide it's easier to dress them up in chrome and pretend we actually want them. The rego label means we've paid our registration fees for the year (think you call it a road tax?) as well as 3rd party personal insurance (all included in one fee).
