I understand that Triumph as a company is all about profit and that by building bikes in Thailand they will be adding to that bottom line.
However from my perspective when I was looking to buy a new bike, I wanted something reliable with a good reputation, and after sales service. Now I could have got all those prerequistes from any Japanese bike. Typically the Japanese have taken an idea and improved it in just about every way. BUT I DIDN'T BUY A JAPANESE BIKE!!!!!!!!
I fell in love with an '04 TBA. I bought her because she is built in the UK just like the 650 my dad used to rave about when I was a kid. I see the look he gets in his eyes everytime he sees my bike and I know what he's thinking. I know I made the right decision in buying the bike I did. I'm sorry but I don't think I could feel the same way with a Triumph with made in Thailand on it.
You can't just replace that history.
