Mike and Bob - the interstates in this part of the state are certainly not safe from the Elk - actually lots of the hits happen on I-40.... a 1/4 mile to the semi in front - that leaves a LOT of room for those monster buggers to jump in front of you. Following a pickup truck or even a car is probably better - you can be a little closer to his tail without the turbulance and loss of view!

Anyone else in the Flagstaff area about 1 pm on Thurs, I'll be headed down, probably thru Sedona and over Mingus, just cause I got the afternoon and its a nice ride. PM me and I can get you my cell # if that will work for you!
