Yes and No. The last of the TR7s were genarally known as being quite sound. The last ones are easy to spot. They have a large circuler enamel badge on the hood. All the earlier models had decals on the hood.

The "official Triumph built" TR8s, of which about 80% of those built were shipped to the US were also meant to be pretty sound cars.

Which brings up something that i always thought was a real shame. The TR8s were good cars, Triumph got that one right just in time for the number crunchers to drop the line. What a shame.
