Well Kurt, evidently you didn't receive your recall notice about this very thing a while back.
You see, according to Triumph, there was a patch of cheaper grade PLASTIC used for this piece. My recall notice continued on to say that one of the prongs that hold this piece to it's base can become weakened, causing it to fly off, which in turn COULD cause the rider to experience a momentary feeling of disgust, which COULD cause them lose control of their machine(and their temperment), which COULD cause an accident.
Triumph suggests that you immediately bring your bike into one of their authorized dealerships for a retrofit of the new and improved PLASTIC covering(at no cost)...OR...you have either have the offical Triumph clock OR the official Triumph tach installed.(at YOUR cost, of course)
