I spent 8 weeks on crutches when in college. I lived on the third floor & had no elevator, multiple trips hopping up the stairs got old real fast, so I rigged up a sweet system to allow me to carry a 6-pack of ..ummm Beer!!!

BTW: Three on each side helps with balance because beer & crutches don't mix.

Speaking of steps!!!

OK here's a tip, DON'T go down stairs using two crutches. If you start to tip, you will topple like a stiff board instead of being able to collapse. It is a MUCH longer fall if you can't bend in the middle...

Instead, put both crutches under one arm and use the RAILING! That way you have something to hold onto. MUCH less scary.
