I finnaly have the money to order me some new tires. Decided to go with the me880's. The two companies that I am looking to order my tires from is AMT (American Motorcylce Tire) and Motorcycle Superstore. They are fairly close in price. Has anyone had good or bad expereinces with any of these two companies? Thanks for your opinions and input. Dennis

AmericanMoto tire was excellent. I've ordered front & rear from them, also the ME880's. So far the ME880's have been great. You might want to check with Eddy1016, a list member who is now selling tires with his accessory business. I'll throw my business his way in the future. Eddy1016's Vendor Thread

i've used Motorcycle Superstore to good end result several times. I too, would check Eddy1016's prices. What's an email cost?

Given the two choices, AMT I have always had good luck with and always fresh tires.

So what do you guys tell the shop when you bring in your own tires? My local shop wants about double the price I can get the tires online and that doesn't include mounting. I absolutely understand a shop has to make a profit, but come on!

Matt: Yeah, that's the dilemma. My daughters boyfriend works in a Yammy/Kaw shop and mounts for me on his lunch hour (I give him $20). My local independant shop will also mount reasonably, but it takes a few days.

My biggest concern about ordering tires online is not knowing how old they are (production date). I do not want a 3 year old tire before it ever hits the road.
My local independent ordered mine from, I think Tucker-Rocky. It came from N.Carolina, I think, but was less than a month out of the tire mold when I got it.
At least I had the option of declining the purchase before spending any $$$, if the tire had been from an old production date.

You could invest in a tire changer and wheel balancer If you have riding buddies close, go in on it. It WILL pay for itself and you don't have to wait to get it done. In my case I would have to take my tires about 75 miles round trip to get them changed to add to the cost.

I just got an ME880 from AMT. This is the third time I've used them with no problems. They are consistently the lowest price. I went with the 180/70 which was lower priced than the stock 170/80 and looks great, no handling problems.
