HeneryHawk There are too many weak dealers with this line, it really hinders the growth of Triumph. Focus on the line as a premium product, understand both the product and the people who buy bikes. Too often these little multiline dudes simply take for granted that people show up and buy, they dont grab the more that HD does really offer, as sense of being a part of more than just getting bike, but the entrance into the community and that you are wanted. So much missed opportunity, it sucks.
I agree. We are a BMW and Triumph dealer, and the two complement each other. Triumph doesn’t belong on the floor with one of the four big Asian marquees. It makes them look overpriced, and that much harder to sell.
The BMW riders are a tight group with a riders club, but we have only been a Triumph dealer for about two years now, and the numbers are growing. I was asked to take the lead in starting a Rat Pack out of our location by my boss. I would do it in a minute, but being most events are Saturday and Sunday, and I work every Saturday, how can I really be involved. I would have to do everything on my own time, and either lose pay, or vacation time to do so. Why should I lose for the good of the company. Hell, I’ve stood at 9 “bike Nights†for the company talking to people interested in the Triumph line, and all I’ve ever gotten is a burger once out of the company. They want a Rat Pack, there gonna need to let me do some of the stuff on the companies time. Don’t get me wrong, I love where I work, but I go above and beyond now, and have to draw the line somewhere.
We’re the #1 Triumph and BMW dealers in the south east for CSI, and work dam hard at it. They brought in Triumph because BMW stopped making cruisers (R1200C/CL/CLC) , and found that they picked up something special.

I'm in East Hampton small town about 20 miles east of Hartford.
Yep there's a pretty good sized population of "Classic" Brit bike fans here.Theres a club in manchester all ride old Brit bikes, Triumph and Norton mostly but a few BSA couple of Vincents even a "British" Royal Enfield or 2. They put on a show each year and give away an old Brit bike. Last years was a 72 Bonny.
Most folk who havn't been here dont realize that just about very road in Ct is twisty and hilly. Trouble is its so built up there's drivways eveywhere.
Yup, you could see the FCI from my bedroom window in the winter. I was on the corner of Rt 39 (Clappboard Ridge Rd) and Highland Park Drive across the valley from the FCI. I remember them having to up security because locals were walking into the place and using the golf course and swimming pool 
I’ve been through East Hampton once while lost on my 70 T-100C. I went to a Triumph / Brit show in the Hartford area every year I was there. Sunday mornings at Marcus Dairy for breakfast, and then ride. I worked in Westchester County NY, and always took Rt 22 for the ride.
Dear God, I miss the north east. Now I’m depressed....... time for a few beers
