Well, I was approved for a loan through Triumph to buy a Speedmaster. However, yesterday morning my wife had the memorable experience of rolling her car over in the ditch because the road was so icy. Of course, I drove the same road 10 minutes earlier and was going about 35 MPH. So, I ask my wife, how fast were you going? She says, 60 MPH. I then told her that her next car was going to be a 1979 Ford LTD station wagon. She was not amused. Anyway, the Speedmaster is on hold until I get her a different car. In the meantime, I have to pull my other Jeep (my summer vehicle)out of storage for her to drive, Yikes!

Thats is bad news about your wife and her car. But she is OK and that is the main thing.
As for the Speedie being on hold. Good things are always worth waiting for.

Glad your wife is okay also. Hope your insurance can help out with the car, so you can still get that Speedmaster.

Her car had full coverage and was more than 1/2 paid for, so we will be in ok shape. Just one of those things. She is fine, but a little sore. I haven't picked on her much, but I often complain that she drives too fast. Hopefully she will slow down now. I still have a bike, so waiting a little longer for the Speedmaster will not hurt me.

I live in the "Thumb" of Michigan. We did just get a few inches of snow. Although this weekend it is supposed to climb close to 50 degrees. I'm ready to ride!

There was a recent article in the paper about how people dont adjust ( slow down ) for the conditions, and how that creates the vast majority of accidents. I wish I could find it for a link...

Hey Newt,
Its a small world. Used to go salmon fishing out of Pt. Austin a few years back. I still usually take an annual ride around the Thumb. Its always nice in the summer riding through Caseville and Pt. Austin. If you are ever coming up this way, let me know. They are calling for 55 degrees now on Tuesday. I already took the day off and will get the bike ready to ride today.

my dad was big on the salmon (alot of yrs he kept his boat at caseville and would spend days on huron for salmon, he had a great brine and everybody loved his smoked salmon), but i miss the perch and walleye YUM YUM hahahahaha my inlaws will send some (frozen....not the same hahahahaha) once in awhile. 25 what a wonderfull road. i used to run up from flint thru vasser to sebewaing and around to pt sanilac, take 46 to 53down to 90 across to 15 and home. made for a nice day (or 2 depending) no traffic, miles and miles of no reason to stop and in the fall the colors were awsome.
ENJOY!!!!! NEWT!!!!!
