Talk to a bunch of your neighbours, aks them if they would sign a complaint with you, or back you up if you file one and need to be supported when the police come to investigate. Dont go physical, nor verbal, you never know when someone may act out at you with a gun or whatever. He seems to havea reckless disregard, that may indicate an instability that could enjoy the escalation. Also, as you tke this further, remember, he will know who did this to him, and there isnt anything that says he wont look for ways to retaliate.
