You know what? I DONT CARE WHERE THERE BUILT! We always say doesnt matter what you ride, just so you ride. Its still a great bike and if where a honda, youd stll be riding. If it was built in Mexico, youd still be riding. Its the ride that matters ,not where or what it is , its the ride. You know what? They are going to be built outside of a England, dont buy it. Dont ride, in fact walk, that would solve it. You know why I bought mine? Because it felt good when I sat on it. Not where it was built, or tradition. It was, I saw it from across a showroom, hadnt a clue on what it was, sat on it and fell in love. The rest I learned later. If it wasnt for dumb luck I never would of owned it. Stop bitching start riding My god four days is enough!!!! Buy a vtx its a cool bike but it doesnt get any attention. Overpay for a black harley so you can be unigue like the 3 billion other harley riders. Stop bithing and start riding. Did I mention im very bored with this topic!!!!!

"Buy a vtx its a cool bike but it doesnt get any attention"
You know why it doesn't get any attention?? Because it doesn't have the Heritage of a Triumph or a Harley for that matter. If Harley's were assembled in Thailand, there would be a huge uproar, and they don't do it for a reason. Alot of americans have ancestors from England and Ireland, we feel a special kinship to those regions. Triumph is just a name but it brings with it a certain heritage and nostalgia. I for one think this is a poor decision on Triumph''s part. That being said I will still buy one assembled in Thailand, because this is the bike I have chosen, but I would much prefer it be a pure british product. And I know they get parts from outside Britain.
Triumph Scrambler Diablo Red & Silver (2014), Arrow Exhaust, FI remapped with TTP #4, 16 tooth sprocket, Triumph Gel Solo seat & Rack, Progressive 440 1" lowered Shocks, SAI & O2 Removal, Airbox Restrictor Plate removed.

I can really understand your frustration, and it's why most of us ride, to get away from stupid stuff like this topic and the other BS... Ride, my friend, ride!!!! I will wave, I will stop to help and it's a given you understand more than most "cager's" will ever know about freedom... I ride a HD, my best friend rides a TBA, I have another friend who rides an R1..... sunrise on the beach will always dawn another day for those who will appreciate it!

Yes, but sometimes one has to dismount from that saddle and ponder what one has witnessed while astride said saddle, animose.
I wonder why it is that the "controversial threads" tend to elicit the most interesting responses around here, and also quite often the most in volume?
Could it be that we all have thoughts that need to be drawn out from time to time in order to make this Lounge...um..."interesting" and a little "thought-provoking" occasionally?
Or...should this just be "tech-support" around here?

Generally don't go to the Triumph.rat forum but last night I noticed they have about 5 of these Thailand things going too. Odd, they are all basically split too.

My 2 cents. Has Triumph laid off people in England as a result of this outsourcing? I doubt it as I am sure it would have been mentioned. Triumph is a small manufacturer compared to KawSuzHonYam and Harley but still has award winning MCs in all catagories, Speed Triple, Rocket III, 675, Tiger, Sprint, to name a few. The above mentioned MCs are the best in their class which is a heck of an acheivement for such a small company. The pattern will be to develop and build MCs in England untill that model has established itself in the market and all necessary engineering is finished, when the assembly becomes routine it can be outsourced to ..... and the space used for the next great model. Triumph will continue to grow in England and worldwide and we will have a great selection at resonable prices.

I wanted to ask the last time this happened- How come EVERY time there is a controversial, banned, or emotional subject - it spawns at least 2-3 more threads?

It spawns new threads to give the mods more to worry over :-) ______________________________________________________
Pasted from the Triumph website after clicking U.S.. Looks like they are very proud to making our bikes in England. I can easily justify a bike made in Thailand. I understand it completely. The below with my moral values is simply reprehensible. I guess my ideas of right and wrong in business are antiquated. Check the company timeline on the Triumph website. For something so great they don't talk much about it. ____________________________________

Funny, I thought it was our propensity to have our opinions heard above all others (thus the need to start new threads).

A guy applied for a job at the police department. In the interview just to see how he expressed himself they asked him who killed Christ. He advised them he would have to get back to them on it. They naturally ended the interview quickly saying they would get back with him.
He went home, burst into the door and yelled to his wife " I got the job, and they have me working on a murder!"
Where were we?

Man, I thought I'd get to see some good ol' Poland bashing in here, and all I get is Phil trying to figure out where he left the 'Hammer of Smiting' and shoe advise. . Now, what kind of oil do I use with 132 main jets??? later, Tom.
But, what do I know?

something i think ya'll are overlooking as i havnt seen any mention of it. The manufactureing is done in England, the assembly is done in Thiland......wheres the problem??? h.d. went the other way, all their stuff is made in china and assembled in U.S. NOW THAT MAKES NO SENSE!!!! its a chinese bike assembled in U.S where as Triumph is an English bike assembled in asia??? Honda makes all the parts in Japland and assembled in U.S. is it a Jap bike or an American bike??? if Triumph can keep the mfg. in England and keep the price reasonable by outsourceing the assembly then who can blame them, i see it as a win. win situation, we pay a fair price for a great bike and the world keeps turning.
ENJOY!!!!! NEWT!!!!!

Some HD's are made in Mexico. Some of their parts are metric and made in Japan. So what's the big deal. That's Triumph's way of keeping the cost down......Angelis

The first two post on this thread says it all. You got two types of America/Speedmaster guys. The first are like Chris and myself who are tired of the belly aching and really don't give a flip were these bikes are made as long as the product remains the same. The second, like Mark, who are belly aching on were or were not they are made and swearing to the heavens above that they will never buy a Triumph again only to get another one because as for unique style there is no were else to go. Well Mark you may or may not been that vehement but I'm tring to make a point, sorry if it's at your expense

Its ok James, I really wish they were still being assembled in England, but alas its not to be. And I DID buy a new Speedmaster (haven't picked it up yet) knowing it is assembled in Thailand or Taiwan. But I had no choice, its the bike I wanted of all the other bikes out there. I won't be the last to have this change of heart...................
