Thanks Bob, you saved me a lot of typing. I was going to use late model Ford F series trucks as an example. The 11th character in many (but not all) is
"M for Mexico" but the World Manufacturing Identifier (WMI) is 1FT for US Ford motor company. Lots of examples on the road (though you will run into many "N" for Norfolk assembled F series trucks).
