Earlier this week I posted a question about the flush mount gas cap (see below). Now here is the problem ~~ I went to install the gas cap today (following the directions) but I can only get the new gas cap to screw in a 1/4 to a 1/2 turn before it gets too tight to turn anymore. I don't want to force it ~~ and I don't want to break off the brass pins. I was under the impression that I could just screw it in by hand and then tighten it up using the brass pins and a screw driver. It's not even close to going that far down. What is the problem?
