Anyway, I'm doing some experimenting with air filters and airbox elimination. I bought some heavy-duty manifold-to-carb couplers from BellaCorse to use. The p/n is BCE-50 and they currently show as being "sold out". These are nice pieces as they fit better and hold tighter than the stock couplers, however, they are straight whereas the stock couplers are tapered. The taper angles the carbs down a bit which allows air filters to clear the top rear of the frame. With these straight couplers things get a little tricky in that area....

And, I am also using the Bellacorse carb brace. With these straight (and shorter) couplers, I had to cut about 3/8 off of each eyebolt and remove the locknut to get the thing lined up with the hole in the engine mount.

Just some info for the tinkering masses.....

I had to go to work and now I just don't feel like dragging the camera out to the garage. It's cold and dark out there.

You'll either have to trust me or buy the stuff and find out for your self....

The main reason I hang out on this forum is that I aint smert enuf to figure stuff out on my own!!!

I have the HD couplers and the carb brace.... Works fine for me...

I have the same setup too and also had no problems

Just reporting what I ran into. Take it or leave it. I switched back to the other couplers and everything is as it should be.....

Now that I think of it, I think my carb brace is cranked in all the way...

Running the same arrangement Grump. No problems so far. I went to the pods and did away with the cheez graters altogether. Like the open look. I will add that with SS shorty's it's sucking a ton of air through the system.
