There was an interesting story on Fox News tonight about a proposed NASCAR track in Washington State. The leaders of the legislature oppose it saying it would attract “undesirable elements” and “the wrong kind of people.” They did some “man on the street” interviews with people who said that NASCAR is popular with rednecks, the toothless, hillbillys, and “Southerners”. The folks that brought us Kurt Cobain, grunge rock and $5 cups of coffee have a problem with “Southerners?” Can someone from there tell me what the H3LL is going on? Too many snobby Californians maybe? Don't get me wrong, I'm neither a NASCAR fan or a Southerner but I certainly have no problem with either, why does Washington?

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.
