Mike: Mine are stock America pipes. I thought if I wrapped cold, wet rags around the pipe that I could cut close to the edge with the plasma cutter and not discolor the chrome. The next baffle in I would just beat out with a long punch.
I did that with a cutting torch for the last baffle. It worked, but, I do believe I got very close to the bluing temps, which could then make for more work than the chisel method if one has to remove the blueing.
