As the saying goes, "Crashing Sucks"! Defensive riding is the key, which goes along with riding at a safe speed based on the conditions. My last good crash was when after riding 80 miles in the mountains, I entered the main roads to transport my bike to my the trailer. (Seems the police don't take kindly to bikes with no turn signals.) While the bike was geared for climbing and not much for speed the lady that pulled in front of me thought I was going slow enough for her to make it across. Wrong! I hit her on the passenger side, flew across the hood of her car and landed on my head on not very forgiving asphault. Thank goodness for helments! This little flight cost me 32 stiches in my leg and a broken back.

The bike did not fair very well either. I guess if I had been on a faster bike I would not be here today. I still say the ambulance ride was worse than the flight.

The key is defensive, let the other guy be right and rush through the intersections. It's better to be a few seconds later than "dead".
