Go back 100 years ago and the popular thing was eugenics. Scientific “consensus” supported it. Everyone KNEW it was right. Lots of legislation was based on it. Now it’s known as a crackpot theory. I recently received a 1971 copy of Paul Ehrlich’s book “Population Bomb.” Not a single prediction has come true. But it was the book my high school biology teacher required us to read in 1971 so we would see the “Truth” of what was to come. Based on the track record of the alarmists out there I’d bet 30 years from now the global warming crowd will be hiding their past predictions and trying to scare us with something totally different. Whatever happened to the “ozone hole” and “acid rain?” Conveniently dropped down the memory hole now that they turned out not to be true!

I was going to brings these up before. The "Population Bomb"
in particular.I do recall one of my leftist school teachers.
Back in the early 70's telling us that by 2000 we would be standing shoulder to shoulder eating "Soylent Green".

But it can be argued that this was averted, by the trend towards smaller families in the following 3 decades.
I know the average family once had 5 or 6 kids. But now it's down to 2. I myself have only fathered 2 vile offspring. Whereas my grand Father sired 6. My Father 3.
