I want to get my rant on too, Cost of living in CT is outrageous. I work in Stamford and rent in Darien (the other Greenwich). I am paying 1200 a month to live in a 700sqft basement appartment. Its a good deal for the area, but if you compare it to anywhere eles in the country it sucks. I came to the realization that I will most likely not own a house until my folks die.
I work for a nonprofit organization, so I'm not rolling in the money but it looks like I'm a millionare now! Many of my collegues cant afford to live in Fairfield county and have an 1.5 hour comute on 95. I'm on call 24/7 with the boat and if stuff happens in the middle of the night I need to get there quickly so I'm spending twice as much for an appartment.
