LJ, yeah, that kind of goes back to the whole "affordable housing" joke like they have here in New Milford or up in Kent, where an "affordable house" will still cost you $285,000. I saw an article in the LCT(Litchfield County Times) about affordable housing in Sharon for under $200,000, which would be a GORGEOUS place to live, but then you get back into the over 100 mile round trip commute thing. I'm going to give it a fair chance, cause like I said, I really like living up in my little valley (or something similar) up here in Northville, despite the costs, and who knows, with a decent promotion or two, I could be back in business. Funny thing is, I can just squeeze the rent around here for a nice place, which works out to be what the mortgage would be if I were buying it MINUS the property tax and homeowners insurance. That's why I'm still mildly optimistic, cause I'm not THAT far out of range of what I could do, if things work out. And, if worse comes to worse, and I pack it up and make a run for Colorado again in 2008, I won't have to worry about selling a house here like I'm doing right now in South Carolina. Just terminate my lease, pack my stuff, and away we go...
