Best thing to do (if you don't mind the moral dilema) is to try lids on at a dealer, then see if you can get that model cheaper on the net - just google motorcycle helmets. Most large stores ship then well packaged.

The moral dilema comes about if you don't buy from the dealer, how is he gonna stay in business?

I'll 2nd the idea of trying them on prior to purchasing online. Seems like different brands have a different idea of sizing and some are designed for different shaped heads.

There are a few dealers on ebay that sell new helmets for quite a bit less than retail. I bought one for my wife from one of the big eBay sellers with no problems.

I'm real pleased with the 3/4 Scorpion EX0-200 from Helmet City.

My wife has a Bell RT. It seems to be well made, and costs around $60

The visor buttons are spaced to allow an aftermarket flip up face shield for cooler days.
It fits her snuggly in that she has to pull the straps outward to get it on and off,
yet she hasn't complained about it being too tight, so it might be fairly comfortable.

Gurdy,
These guys - Helmet World are right around the corner from my house. They really do have thousands of helmets in stock and on display.

x2 on helmet world, I spent an hour there after they should have closed trying on helmets. They know helmets.
The problem around here is no helmet law, so you get a very limited selection at dealers.
