You won't do wrong with either. They seem to be the two most preferred brands. I know of no one having high praise for the B-stones - although B-stone may actually have a better tire(???) than those that come as equipped.

I've bought 2 sets of Avons from Motorcycle Accessory Warehouse MAW for about $215 delivered. I just bought a new rear Avon from Ron Ayers Ron Ayers That was a bit cheaper. You have to shop around and check shipping rates.

I took the prices I found on line and took them to my dealer. He matched them on price and still gave me the reduced mounting price you get when you buy the tires from him. Pluses: no shipping cost, same price, lower mounting cost and made my local Triumph dealer a little more profitable. Minus: Sales Tax. Overall a plus. Oh yeah, I got the Avon Venoms, very happy with them. The rear tire lasted about ten thousand miles, I have about 14,000 on the front and it's about due.

Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Don,
How old were the tires you received from maws? Did you ask Myers if they would gear-run-tee the tire not being older than say 6 months? Time for me to retread my wheels. Have to shop around local too because shops charge double to mount tires you don't buy from them. But don't you mount your tires yourself? Mounting plays a big deal when the decision of from whom to buy from arises.
I bought tires and tubes from Motorcycle Pro Shop. Both tubes were damaged and when I returned them Motorcycle Pro Shop charged me a restocking fee! WTF. And the tires were over a year old each. I guess I could look up the thread but frankly I don’t give a dern anymore about those con artist at Motorcycle Pro Shop. Returning an new dated tire is too expensive.
PS: Yes Pete and all others, buy from Motorcycle Pro Shop and get hosed.

It's Avon for me. I found the best place on the net is American Motorcycle Tire The tires have always been fresh and I have had no problems. I have not heard of anyone here having any problems either. I would suggest NOT using Motorcycle Pro Shop. Some here have had problems and I (and 17 others here where I live) have boycotted them because of it. There is a link in the Tech Vault about this. My friends and I all use American Motorcycle Tire now. As a side note, we change and balance all of our own tires. Kind of a co-op on the equipment.

I have the Avon Venom's and I like them alot. I have about 4K on them and they seem to be wearing very well. My stock Bridgestones front wore out after 8K. The back was ok but I replaced both at the same time.

Moe Those coast rides are great and camping with a few friends makes it even better. We do a three day run most years, but missed last fall. Lots of good riding and evenings with friends is a mini vacation that is hard to beat.

I have the 880's as well, and I love them. Very sticky, and the bike rides much better with more predicatable handling. Haven't tried the Venoms.
