About a month ago I got my new Windvest 16". The quality and mounting are flawless. Looks great and works really well. Except...

My upper body is too tall. I can't stop the helmet buffet at freeway speeds. Oh, what a headache. Had a friend ride who is the same height, 6'3", but better porportioned and he had no problems.

I would recommend the Windvest to anyone normal or shorter in the upper body. The America looked real good with it. Now off and sitting in a box.

What now?

Sorry to hear, I'm 5'10 with a 14" Windvest, and have no complaints about the thing. Sometimes I choose to ride with the visor on my full-face down, because of the turbulence, but most times I can still ride with the visor up, as is my preference. Heck, my best friend (rides a Kawasaki 1500 Vulcan Classic) just spent almost $300 for a Memphis Shades 17" Slim w/ hardware, and after one 10 mile ride with it on is ready to throw it in the trash, said his bike is unsafe at anything over 75 mph, and says he gets more wind buffeting now then he ever did without it.

Rick,

Did you move the shield all the way up on the mounts? It works best if you can get the top of the shield at your eye level, and align the angle of it to match your forks.

There are 4 or 5 holes on each side of the shield that allow you to reposition it.
