Today at Bogarts, my wife made a suggestion. Buy a BMW LT and keep the America, or trade the America for Rocket3. She wants the BMW but she said, "You look so good on the R3". Do I need such an ugly motorcicle to make me look "so good"? The R3 is so ugly, it's beautiful.
I'd trade for an R3, but not for another twin.

Me neither. This bike is all I want. What could be better? Certainly not a bike with an ugly radiator up front, which I suppose a 1500 would get. Readig this (from Delphi) starts you thinking though: Quote:

Then the 988 stroker kit(904 pistons with 6.3 mm stroker crank,Carrillo rods etc.)
Then the 1087(96.5 mm bore by 74.3 stroker,bore crank cases,Carrillo's etc)
And finally the 1147( 99.2mm bore by 74.3 stroker bore crankcases, Carrillo's, etc).
I been told that Wiseco and BP are taking the same direction now(989 stroker,1088 with 101 mm bore, and 1200 with the same bore and stroker crank as well, with Jorgen jugs)
That's nothing less than fantastic, specially for Jorgen, a hardcore racer and enthusiast that will have his own jugs attach to those kits
Who can imagined that just 5-6 years ago?

I have seen these bikes on demo this week, and the bike looks disjointed to me. What I mean is that the front is fairly sleek, yet the rear is enormous. It looks kinda like a weak attempt at a Dyna-FDXLEIEIO-chopper. Watched a few carry that enormous rear through a tight right turn last evening. No thanks.

With that description I think I may have dated that bikes mother back in the 70's.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Gotta keep the 02 TBA. Too much effort getting almost to where I want it to be. Wouldn't mind having another to apply the 1089 kit to, but the 790 pretty much does it for me as far as a cruiser goes. And I too think the new Tiger is pretty cool.

I will definately take a look at her. Let the wife ride the America and upgrade to the big twin. I will never let Lucy go, She has been with me for ever! My children will be gettin' her. I do however want to see this bike. I hope they do not ruin it by making it a crappy fat tired piece of crap!

No idea about weight or FI, although I would think with the stricter emission regs coming FI would be a must. But at least if this rumor is true(yeah, big if), saying it'll be air and oil cooled would most likely eliminate a previous rumor...that it would be a Rocket 3 based 2 cylinder mounted sideways.
