I've seen a few posts on here about the much anticipated Triumph 1500 cruiser. How many of you will trade in your Speedmaster or America if/ when they build the new cruiser? Given that the new ride will look as nice as the current SM and TBA, of course. The more of you that trade yours in, the better deal I can get on a used one later this year....

I'll keep my 790 for the build I'm working on(too hard to find a motor) or give it to my daughter when she decides to move up from her dirt bike......Angelis

Depends on the price. I would love a 100 cubic inch cruiser in an air cooled two cylinder. We'll see...

I love my SM so the new bikes will have to look at least that good. I have also become somewhat of a "Diva" these days as I am now accustomed to the head turns and constant positive attention I get wherever I go, thanks to ye olde Speedy. If the new cruisers do not look as though they are able to fill those shoes then I am destined to continue down the road onmy 790 (possibly w/big bore upgrade).

I'm happy with what I have! It's What I always wanted,looks good and drives good.

My TA looks good, rides good, and goes fast enough for me to kill myself... and it's paid for.

When I become rich, I may add to the stable. But I'd still keep ol' Concord.

I'll never get rid of the America but I'd consider trading the Sprint ST - though not necessarily for the mid-sized cruiser.
My plans are for a ... *cough* ... 'bigger' cruiser ....

Sorry, I won't buy a Thaiumph, a really fast knockoff of a British bike, for any amount of money. I certainly won't give up a bike for it. When and if released it will come from the expanded plant where cost is next to nothing to risk the new model.

Too many other good bikes out there not exploiting starvation labor rates in Southeast Asia. I am against exporting jobs and heritage.

The new one's gotta be something VERY special to get me to consider it. But I'm about 98% certain my answer is nope.

If it hits me right here (thumping chest over heart) like my Raven did in 2001, I might consider adding it to the stable. However, there is no way I am selling either of our current bikes. I'd have to be a fool to after putting so much time, effort, and love into her and finally having her set up exactly the way I wanted.

Since we have no idea what it looks like or what it will cost this is hard to know.
But since the wife gets the next bike, and she wont be riding this summer, I would say the speedy is my ride for a while.

This is speculation of course, but I would rather increase my engine with the upcoming 1200 kit than trade for with a 1500 I think. The America is so light and handles so well I can't imagine a parallel twin any larger being as agile.

Most 1500's are 650 pounds or more and moving those pigs around your garage or into a tight parking spot when it's 100 degrees has got to be less fun than doing the same with the America.

And the power to weight ratio is the big deal to remember unless you just want a bigger bike and are willing to shell out the additional money which I bet is $500 to $700 over the existing Speedmaster. For a long range tour bike, probably the 1500 will be great. Or for someone that the existing bikes just don't fit.

My brother has literally looked at every bike on the market and finally settled on a new America. These bikes are just hard to beat for the price/performance and NOTHING looks as cool.

Redbike7 just said everything I was about to say. I want to add a Sprint or Trophy for touring, but I'll never own a 700 lb cruiser.

If it has any of that fancy new stuff (EFI, shaft-drive, radiator), no. If the 11th character of the VIN is T, no. Chances are the planets will not align and this dinosaur will not have one parked in his garage. I'd consider a pre-'07 Bonneville variant abandoned by someone crossing over into the new-age.

No. I love My Americas. I'm quite happy with them. I'm planning on tinkering with the 03 this year, and that will keep me happy.

I have a bad feeling the 1500's are going to be way too heavy. Anything over 550 pounds is too much. If they can make the 675 weigh, what, 415 pounds, they can make a lightweight cruiser. And it would be very tempting.

I think i made my opinion on the mythilogical Triumph big bore twin cruiser known. But if not let me make it clear.

They will have to pry my 790 out of my cold dead hands.

Trade in? I've got over 48,000 miles on my Speedmaster. Any trade in value it had is long gone. Big bore comes next year. I'm waiting to see how the new 1089cc Wiseco kits do. Well, that and the cash.

Ok, Maybe I am different, but heck yeah I am planning to move up to the next America whether it is 1500, 1200 or what ever.

I want the extra power and the warrenty. I do want it to handle at least close to the 790/865. I am not a wrench by any stretch but I have done everything I can short of the BB to up the power and torque.

I know Pat has 70+ hp but I don't and as much as I love this bike if it had 80-100 hp I would love it more.

now if my bike had 80+ hp more torque same weight and same basic geometry I would be thinking I had the ultimate. I would think those specs are what the new one will have. But then again I was never accused being right to often.

I would think 85-90 hp is easily obtainable with the new 1089 Wiseco. Probably cost around 2 grand or so if you do the work yourself and go with the Carillo rods. We'll see how it all shakes out though.

Compared to spending $11,000+ plus on a new bike, I think I'll stick with the big bore option. But then I have high miles and don't really want another cruiser in my garage.

I am also waiting to see what's going on with the new 1098 BB kit.

To be honest, I absolutely love my bike and have no real thoughts of ever getting rid of it for any reason.

I love my '02 BonnevilleAmerica. If the new big twin comes out, it may be a third bike. A good tourer is next in the stable (probably a BMW).

When I get another bike it'll live next to the Blue Streak. My BA is perfect for what it is.

I won't trade my America. She's near perfect for the type of riding I do. I don't need the extra power. She handles and looks great. I was contemplating a RocketIII but I just can't get past the looks. If I add another bike to the stable it would be a long range touring bike like a BMW K1200RT/GT/LT or the Yamaha FJR1300. I'd keep my America for riding around New England and use the touring bike for long cross country riding.

Id probably just buy it and see if I really need to get rid of it or not

Here we go again with this 1500 cc crap! So I gues my answer to this question is a flat no I'll keep my SM. The bike you will be getting size wise will not be that much bigger and when you look at the horses to weight ratio you're not not going to get much more speed or power for the extra $$$ you'll have to shell out. For me it ain't broke so why mess with it.

I'll stick with what I have. My America is just right for its purpose in life. Unless I am offered a deal on a classic that I can't refuse, I don't see any changes in my stable at all.

If I were to trade my bike, it would be for the Tiger(I would rather just add it, though!).

Maybe if it looks good.
However, the 07 Tiger is what really peaks my interest for a possible trade.

Never! I'll never sell my Speedmaster.

If Triumph makes a big CC cruiser (NOT a Rocket!) in the UK that's as appealing as the Speedmaster, I'll be all over it as a second bike.

If not, I'll be adding a Victory Vegas 8-Ball to the stable in the next couple of years.
