Where else to turn to, but my online family.
My almost-step-daughter decided to runaway last night sometime between 10:30 PM last night and 6:00 AM this morning. She is 16. She left a note that she got a ride to California to become a model. I know it is a long shot of anyone spotting here, but it is worth a try. Here are some pictures.

I live in the San Fernando Valley and work in Hollywood.. so if anybody has odds on seeing her it's probably me.. I will keep a sharp eye out.

if you can go look at her my space and aim or yahoo..were ever she had a profile you mite find some leads from that..

Sorry to hear of this Soren. I'm seldomly, unlike Chris here, in areas of L.A. where runaways would normally be found, such as Hollywood, so I'm sorry but I doubt I'd be of much service to you.

But good luck man. Here's to the hope that she'll soon realize that getting a good education beats "becoming famous" hands down, and will soon return to her home where people really care about her.

If you find a particular agency that might specialize in locating runaways(I attempted a google, but couldn't find one myself), and you need me to contact them for you, just let me know.

Thanks everyone for your comments and encouragement. Right now we have filed with the police and are contacting everyone we can. Unfortunately, I do not have her current password to her Yahoo account or MySpace account. But, like mentioned before, I bet they hold the best clues. She doesnt have her own cell phone either (gee that would make things too easy). I wish things were like on TV where the F.B.I could find her in an hour (less if you skip the commercials).

Best of luck with this. Can you check your computer temporary internet files for Myspace info....where she looked and who she was talking to? I thought as long as you had her Myspace name you could go online and see her postings, or at least find out names shes been looking at...

Soren, Panman is correct. In myspace if you scroll to the top of the page there is a search feature click on people and type in her name and her "page" will come up. Hopefully there will be some helpful info there.

I took off a few times when I was 15\16 my buddy and I were going to thumb down to SC and get jobs on fishing boats, and after a couple of days on the road the cops always ended up catching up with us and taking us home. I'm sure this will happen to your step daughter.

I sure hope she comes to her senses and calls home. Her Mom must be climbing the walls. Give her a hug from all of us.

I have a few friends in the hollywood area that I emailed pictures and a link to this forum. Lets keep our fingers crossed............

I am in the San Fernando Valley also, Friday we are going to Universal Studios, one of the most popular spots for teenagers. Saturday we will be in Hollywood Sunset strip.

Will have my girlfriend keep an eye out for her.

Hard to understand these kids today.

My wife's ex kicked their youngest son out of his house yesterday. Sent him back to my house. We had sent him to live with his Dad before school started this year, because of some troubling discipline signs over the summer, and as he was going into high school this year, we thought (they thought) a change would be good, and his Dad would command a little more respect than his Mother had been. WRONG!

Fifteen years old, and (my belief), is he just never had any guidance, or discipline, growing up, and now he has no respect for his elders. Any of them.

My wife sheltered him too much - he never had to participate in any household chores or yard work activities, even when his older brother, and my own two sons were actively involved. This one would always be the last one out, and the first back in. Never made to answer "Sir", or "Mam", (I think THAT is the root cause of it all), he never learned to respect anybody, and so he never respected teachers, the school, or, most importantly, his parents. He always got his way, or kept nagging (crying when he was younger), until he did, and he always did.

Now it's pot, and who knows what else...I think he's heading to Boot Camp, myself, if he doesn't wind up in jail first. H*ll I smoked a lot of dope, and would in a heartbeat, today (lost all my connections), but I was always smart enough to not get caught. This kid took pictures of the stuff on his digital camera, and then his Dad saw the pics! These kids either just aren't bright enough to think about the stupidity of that, or maybe they just don't give a da*n, I don't know. Has to dress like a thug, with his cap turned to the side, and his baggy, too large pants like all the getto kids want to wear. (why is it that he retail department stores stock so much of that crap, and not the traditional clothes Jr. and Sr. High school kids ought to be wearing?) Blacklight posters of TuPak on his wall (he even wrote on his bedroom wall in flourescent ink - graffitti - and his Mother didn't even make a fuss about it! I hate to think what his MySpace page looks like, but his Dad told us we needed to check it out...

My wife is afraid of her own baby son now, because he is bigger than she, and he talks back to her because she never slapped his face to get any respect when he was younger. I don't/won't put up with it when I am around, but it's just a matter of time.....It'll be him or me, but there won't be room enough here for the two of us, that is for sure. I was raised better than that. She won't allow me to take control, I'll be DA*NED if he's going to be!

Again, Soren, good luck finding your runaway. It's nationwide, brother.

I'm sure most of us caused our parent's some level of "angst" growing up, sounds like you are doing what can be done.

Soren, can't add or do much in Alabama except to let you know that prayers are being lifted up for you and yours.
