The "cheating" element has always been a part of NASCAR. I remember Bobby Allison being caught with extra fuel storage in his roll cage !! Taking that away (ie: Car of the Future, & restrictor plates) takes the interest away (my opinion, of course).
Also, the first NASCAR race that I went to was the Talladega 500 in 1972. Guess who won?? James Hylton... the old geezer you guys are referring to.
