Rob, that's terrible. Isn't there a way to stimulate the healing? Maybe it's time for a second opinion?

Fortunatly (unfortunatly) this guy IS the second oppinion...he's the PODIOTRIST fortunatly he found it...and they are going to put me on some type of bone growth stimulator (should be great for the arthitis) but it's SUCH A PITA...
Gordon I'm thinking a roll of duct tape and a beer/scotch or two and I should be fine....but this may meen I'm doing the Iron but from the seat of my truck riding chase for those who are still riding down...

Damm Rob,
What luck, 6 months now and it still has not healed, maybe Speedmaster is right and you should get a second opinion.
We have two half months before our iron butt run to GA. does the doctor think it will heal in two months ?
Take care and hunker down I see where NH could get 2 to 3 feet of snow in the next 48 hrs.
Take care, Brett says hi.

Rob, I've heard about those stimulators, hope it works. I'm just concerned this doc didn't check it WAY before now. I've broken knees and they don't take 6 months for the bone to fuse.
Also, be sure to REST it and ELEVATE it whenever possible. I'm no MD but rest and elevation can do wonders for healing.
Good luck and heal well, it's almost riding season.

One of my co-workers in the late 70s had a broken arm for over a year. Doc mentioned smoking pot would inhibit healing. She quit and her arm healed up real quick.

If only that had been the case...at least then I would have an excuse...the Dr. I had in September is NOT the same one I have now (she got SOOO fired F'n B!tch )...this guy is (seems to be anyway) on the ball...I'm just so F'n P.O'd right now I could spit...NOW is NOT the time to be on crutches with a cast on your foot (not that any time is good) but its icy and it sucks !!! and I thought this crap was over!!!

Rob, take it from me, TAKE IT EASY!! When I was 14 I broke my leg (3rd base doesn't move FYI). I walked on it too soon, and it healed wrong. A little bent, would have messed up my ankle. The following april I had to have surgery to straighten it and add hardware. 6" plate and 6 screws to hold it. I'll show you the scar next time I see you. It SUCKS going thru it twice! Make it count this time...

Well Rob, I hope they can fix it without surgery, but if not (and you should know within a few weeks), see an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in sports injuries (don't matter how you did it). I thought podiatrists were for ingrown toenails and such.

It could be one of two things: (1) It's actually healed, but your doctor still hasn't paid off that Porshe, or.. (2) Your wife keeps hitting it with a hammer while your asleep, so you won't be gettin' back on that g**d***ed contraption again. Have ya been awaken with sharpe pains lately?

Milk???? oh yea that white stuff cows give...Damm...well I'll be getting the cast tommorro...and this Podiotrist seems top knotch...and no they don't just do ingrown toe nails...so I'm discovering...these guys are apparently FOOT/ANKLE guru's...go figure a DR who specializes in feet catching that my damm ankle was still broken...even though I was there for something totally unrelated on my otherfoot...
At this point I JUST WANT IT OVER WITH so whatever it takes...but it may effect my GA Rally Plans...but I'm GOING either way...

Rob take a calcium/ magnesium vitamin suppliment, & maybe switch to milk stout for a while. Take ti easy for a while if you can my bro-in-law broke his ankle years ago,he really didn't know he did, never took care of it, & now it's a mass of calcium deposits & agony. It doesn't slow him down much, but he's always in pain.

Only one thing will help, lets ride down to Daytona for bike week. You obviously need to ride to heal it. Don't listen to these weak milk pushers. Slap on an air cast grab the leathers and lets hit the road. That stinks if its still in cast come GA rally we can make modifactions to the bike or something. Heck I rode the sleds all last spring with my throttle wrist in a cast.
In all seriousness this stinks. Hope you get better.

Although I'd curse someone saying it to me... take it easy.
If you get really bored I'm still looking for some to spend a lot of time cleaning the bike.... or stripping down the front end on the 03....or even working on the next potential project...

well they gave me this very high tech looking cast... kinda a ski boot/air cast...and cruches...the bone stimulator lady (sounds dirty don't it) should be calling in a day or two so as she can set a time to bring the "machine" to my house and show me how to use it...then its 30 min a day for 3 weeks on this stupid machine...BUT the bright side is if it works then 4 weeks and I'm done...we'll see!

My mum had one of those before she had her ankle replacement replaced (don't ask) but they are much cooler than a normal cast.

Well a broken ankle is a perfectly good excuse to trailer to a rally. I recommend playing this video game to get used to the idea of trailering to a rally.

Wimp!
I'll have you know, one day many years ago, I was ridin' down the road on my trusty old Henderson, when a Greyhound bus ran a stopsign and T-boned me REAL good! I just picked myself up, dusted myself off and walked over to where the twenty-some pieces of my bike ended up.
LUCKILY, I had my trusty ol' crescent wrench in my back pocket, and in LESS than an hour that puppy and I was back on the road!

Rob, I can’t understand why it hasn’t heeled as of yet . Oh yeah maybe the 6 ½ mile hike through the woods in the dark. Or being on your feet most of the time at Wilmont. or the peaceful hike up the small mountain side or on the trails around the pond . Oh wait that doesn’t count the Scotch took care of that weekend. Or could it have been the rock climbing at Boulder Morty’s Gee I just don’t understand why it still hasn’t heeled. Maybe the shortage of milk. Good thing none of this was my fault. Or was it
shut up and ride

hey that wasnt a walk in the dark...it was a nite hike... and it wasn't through the woods...it was up two mountains...
And YES this is ALL your fault... hey in todays socioty you didn't think I was going to take the fall...did you...
It's SOOOOO much harder now to stay off of it because the pain isn't there as a reminder like it was before...now is more an ever present dull ache (which I have become accoustom to and ignore) punctuated by momentary shooting pains (that I cant ignore) when I do something foolish or twist it the wrong way (like any way is the wrong way)
