There's about 6 inches of snow mixed with sleet here in Farmington CT. Yes I am sitting in a hotel watching LOST on valentines day.... AGAIN. Two years ago I was stuck in the Atlanta airport after ANOTHER meeting...
Good thing is after our meeting tonight a buddy of mine and I went out in the Charger and did a couple hundred donuts and practiced our drifting technique. My sister says there is officially two feet up at the house in VT!!

Between 3" to 5" mostly sleet in Torrington,, now it's the wind, wow sounds like a freight train, always get a little nervous when the house creeks and shakes. But noting unusual up here on the hill in Torrington. Last year b4 we got the triple pane, krypton gas filled windows (Don’t even ask how much $$) one would feel the wind blowing through the house, and the clanking sound of the aluminum storm windows could wake the dead. I was all excited for the snow and of course big let down. For most of my 50 years, 48 of in CT most BIG snow storms forecasts never materialize. The worst thing about this storm was rearranging the garage Tuesday, (find a safe place for TBA SO MY WIFE WOUN'T HIT IT) so my wife could park her car in garage. Last fall did battle about NOT PUTTING TBA IN SHED IN BACK YARD. I want access to TBA when warm weather comes. The is no way I could get TBA up the step hill, also in spring first 2†to 3†of soil are so loose, my feet sink in. APRIL SIX WEEKS TO GO.

Benny, At my house only 2-3" of snow total on the ground! And I live in the snow belt. Normally we should be around 50-70" of snow, we a re in a snow drought! Down the road from the house I took these pictures driving home for the benefit of the Southern Man who doesn't have a reference to when I whine about salt on the roads. The white stuff on the edge of the road is not frost or snow. Stuff gets everywhere. Given the choice? I'd rather have snow than minus 20 below Zero F were getting tonight.

I would say 18+ at the house yesterday. We got snow mixed with sleet most of the afternoon, but never a full change over which was nice. The restaurant down the street called and informed us at 3 they were closing early and canceled our reservations. Which stunk, cause I didn't have dinner planned yet. Luckily there was one place in town open. PS don't have a huge steak and a gallon of ice cream on Valentines day, it kind of ruins the rest of the festivities.
All in all decent storm, unfortunatly for the local news guys it looks like we all survived. TV news is so dumb, I had the local guys on for 30 minutes yesterday morning and was treated to 2 interviews of the guy snowblowing the post office and an interview of what a woman getting her mail was wearing to beat the cold. Trust me it was not riveting news. And then there is also the classic "well its snowing and you shouldn't go anywhere, but we are going to send reporters all over the state to tell you its snowing."
{tv news rant off}

We had around a foot of ice pellets / snow in the NW corner of CT. It setup into a semi solid, and is some tough diggin' with a shovel. I just spent 5 hours on the world famous motorcycle lift / backhoe. Dayumn but that's rough on old man knee joints. Good thing I loves me some snow.

Bread pudding.

Does he go to RPI? Poor kid... Tell him not to leave campus All the homecoming games when I was in college were the WPI Engineers VS the RPI Engineers.... Geeks for sure. There is math in our fight song.

Yeh, his first year. His roomie's a local (from Wynantskill), so that helps. He described Troy as "kinda ghetto", but he's got street smarts as well as science brains, so he does alright.

Kinda ghetto would be close. It is definitely "across the river" from albany. Not really sure what that means But it's not that nice. I hope he does well! What is he studying?

Right now "undeclared science". He'll declare chemistry in the fall with I.T. as either a minor or a double major. He made Dean's list for the fall semester, so he's doing well so far.

He's on his third now so it won't be long. First was still in High School.
He seems to love that stuff . No idea where it came from. Though my great grandfather was an engineer. Designed airships.

Here's a pic of the snow last weekend in VT. The snowbank looked more impressive when I got there, but still not bad!
