A couple of nights ago I was watching one of those shows about car crashes, train wrecks and the such caught on tape. Now TV is very educational as you all know but I learnerd something very interesting in the process.

When your lose your electricity, the big mega volt breaker the power company installs kicks out and you have no electricity. The circuit breaker will then send a 10,000 volt charge through the line to test it before resetting the breaker.

Now why I found this interesting I'm not sure and I sincerly hope I never have the need for this information but........you just never know. And you know really it was something you'd never think to ask when acquiring all the information necessary to survive in this world such as hot burns, don't back talk mama and you can't hit your toes with a hammer. The basic stuff is all there but then some people get to the point where their input wasn't really complete and they think it's okay to use the hair dryer in the shower.... it happens.

Did you know that there were more than one accidental death last year by way of wounds self inflicted with an ink pen? Truth? who knows... Now I say something has gone terribly awry if you've managed to kill yourself with an ink pen but maybe these people were just missing an important piece of information that somehow slid through the cracks.

So what has this got to do with motorcycles? Well.. nothing really I suppose but hey! I thought it might be insightful and entertaining just the same. Possibly lame or boring but sometimes you just gotta take risks.

So..... know any oddball - could be useful info? Don't mix coke and bleach? We already know about the peeing on the electric fence so just go ahead and forgoe that one... don't ask.. but any other useful info would be much appreciated if would help move us safely along our chosen path.

If you have a stomach virus that caused you to have the squirts for a really long time DO NOT mistakingly use a Stridex pad thinking it is a Tucks pad.

2 cups of potassium nitrate aka salt petre & 1 cup of sugar.....melt the sugar, mix in the potassium nitrate & let it cool. makes a really nice white hot flame when lit & you dont want to put it in water.

we should do this every weekend!

I know I oughta know something, but try as I might I am coming up blank. Now that's depressing.

Wait, I remember when your mother said "Do the right thing", that the alternative "thing" was always a lot more fun .

Peanuts are one of the ingredients in Dynamite.

Everything weighs one percent less at the equator.

The only ten letter word that you can spell with the top row of letters on your keyboard is "typewriter".

yes. this was the brainchild of early typewriter engineers. as we all forget where we are, or what
it was we walked back into the house to get when
thecarisrunningyouarelateforworkandyouhavetodrive25milesinaraginghailstorm,
or what we are doing. when it's the, what we are doing while typing issue, all you
have to do is apply your Scrabble skills to the top row of letters.

now of course any good Scrabbler(no...not Scrappler)
knows you only get to pick seven letters, so you'd
have to make yourself a goodoldfashionedrunonword
to make the 10 letter word, typewriter.

thus attaching your seven letters to either side of the already existing
word on the board "pew" you will have in fact used
all seven letters, garnered an extra 50 points for being so darn
clever, and in all likelihood landed on a couple of bonus squares
as well. with a "Y", a "W" and a "P" that could
add up to a mighty little bundle of points.

now i don't know if this is on par with things you oughtta know
or if it is a slick little
unintended hijack.
i hafta say though the whole rambling felt wonderfully Arlo-esque.

No piece of paper can be folded in half more than seven (7) times.

Donkeys kill more people annually than plane crashes.

According to the National Demolition Association, only 1% of demolition is done by implosion (you know, those cool videos of buildings collapsing on themselves). The rest is done by mechanical means or by hand.

Ok. a little research shows this is urban legend.

"NO, this statement has been plagueing us for several years now. It first appeared somewhere as a "factoid", but it, along with several others on that list, is TOTALLY FALSE. (We now hear that the National Geographic channel is using it in a commercial!) Until recently, we had absolutely NO IDEA where they got the so -called fact to base this rumor on. We have now found out that it was spawned due to the numbers of auto accidents caused by loose donkeys in Mexico and the Middle East! We often hear of people being INJURED by their donkeys, but can't yet name one case where someone in the USA was killed by a donkey-and there have certainly been hundreds of people killed each year in plane crashes. You'd think that several hundred people killed by donkeys each year would be publicized better somewhere OTHER than a "factoid sheet". People contact the ADMS for all sorts of reasons, but having searched the archives, we cannot find any notices of members or people killed by a donkey. (In Nov 2005 we found one headline of a man in Egypt being killed by his donkey - he had beaten the animal and it savaged him.) In truth more people are bitten by their family dog! Being killed in an auto collision with a loose donkey is not being killed by a donkey - it's being killed in an auto collision, which happened to involve a donkey. Help us to dispell this awful rumor-mill factoid - it's not true, it's bunk, treat it as such. Please don't let this statement stop you from getting a donkey or any other animal if you wish to own one! "

Ya musta missed that episode of "Mythbusters" last week. Using a football field sized sheet (put together actually) of paper (and an asphalt roller), they were able to "fold" it in half, 12 times.

Yep, I just figured that one out!!!

So, here are a few others...probably not true either.

1 out of 350,000 Americans get electrocuted in their life.
27% of female lottery winners hid their winning ticket in their bras.
3% of pet owners give Valentine's gifts to their pets on Valentine's Day.
31% of employees skip lunch entirely.
45% of Americans don't know that the sun is a star.
53% of women in America would dump their boyfriend if they did not get them anything for Valentine's Day.
66% of home based businesses are owned by women.
70% of the poor people in the world are female.
75% of all raisins eaten by people in the United States are eaten at breakfast.
96% of candles that are purchased are by women.
96% of people put the peanut butter on first when making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

OOH! I know, I know what a slug is, Yota!

It's a snail who didn't get his wife or girlfriend anything for Valentine's Day, and was kicked out of his home(shell), like MATT(above) was!
