Took the experienced rider safety course yesterday here in Pennsylvania. The 12 of us used our own bikes. Thruout the day I had to do about 20 to 30 emergency stops thruout the course. My distance was less than half of everyone else's. Smooth, controllable. I was very impressed with my new 05 America. By the way, been riding (off & on) for over 30 years, but I highly reccommend these state run rider courses. You "will" come back with a little more experience & knowledge than what you left the house with.

Interesting, how much was the course? Here in MD, we have the beginner and advanced MSF course. In the beginners course, you get Honda 250's. My 20 yr. old daughter took and passed this course last week, I watched for a few hours, it was well worth the time/effort (I paid for the class).

I believe that they are free here in Pennsylvania. I took the experienced rider course. (free).

Here in the People's Republic of Washington they get 100.00 for the advanced riders course and then get you for 75.00 when you renew a motorcycle endorsed license.The additional money supposedly goes to run the training program. The advanced course is a good one.

I did an "advanced training day" yesterday. It cost me £95. I passed my test in the early 80's and hadn't ridden a bike for 20+ years until I bought the Speedy last year. Here in the UK there's no requirement to undertake any additional training after you've passed your test.

I thoroughly recommend the training to anyone. There were a few totally new tips, and a lot of minor stuff that I was reminded of. By the end of the day I was riding significantly faster (around bends) and a lot smoother than I was at the start of the day. It also included a fair bit on overtaking techniques.

As I say, highly recommended...an old dog can be taught new tricks!

when my daughter wanted her MC endorsement, I insisted she take the Motorcycle safety course. which she passed with flying colors. BUT they did not teach her how to stop her bike on a hill. NOR have they taught it yet in the class. We had to teach her the hill stop. I enjoy riding with any one who has taken this course. They ride like the book and keep a straigher line then some of us veterans.

Many of the Harley's and other brands of cruisers weigh considerably more than the TBA. I think that is why the handling and braking performance is better than most cruisers. The TBA is a very nimble bike for a cruiser. I ride with all Harley riders and they tell me they have a hard time staying with me in the curves even at what I consider moderate speeds. I'm a fairly new rider and really don't push my bike at all and she hugs the turns like a sport bike. Glad you like your TBA and welcome to the site.
