Mine is of similar vintage. Someone was nice enough to send me the red wire that game with the triumph tach wiring kit. That red wire plugs into a connector coming off the ignitor, then I tapped into the dash. I'd have to go out and see where on the bike it is exactly, but it's lik 14 deg out...
But I did need that red wire, and it did have the little tab on the end to plug into the back of that connector. If someone finds a picture of one it would be easier to explain.
