That's the problem, I can't find a good place to put that sucker.

I know. I really don't feel like drilling holes in my console... Maybe I'll put it where the stock tach would go? Something like that...

Well if I could find a disk of metal to fit that hole I would be in business. I tried cutting one out with a wheel cutter, but I think I had it going to fast, and I think it knocked my drill press off kilter a little. I need to find a hardened rod so I can take the wiggle out of the wobble...

well from what i can see none of you have changed a thing on your bikes
you have all improved and made the product as triumph should have sold them in the first place
lets keep customising

whoa my budget can't keep up with you guys. my speedy has AI removed , rejetted for the gutted oem pipes chromed engine covers, swapped seat for america with touring pillion and tall sissy bar for the sweety, chrome werks drag t bars with brent's iso grips. Shortened the stems for the rear turn signals and relocated the fronts to the forks. {rivco relocaters}. bike watch and I'm not done by any means.

Budget? What budget? My savings account can't keep up, that's for sure. I've definitely spent more than the cost of the bike on the bike, if you factor in a set of tires each year, dealer servicing for four years, all the gear, etc.

I hear that. I should also remind people I've had my bike for 5 years now, and in the first year all I got was saddlebags, a helmet and a jacket.

Hmmmm, first year mods...

During riding season: Footboards, crashbars, short TORs, pillion luggage rack, saddlebags with homemade brackets, driving lights. I got a couple extra grand in the loan for most of that stuff. Of course, there was the gear: helmet, leathers, etc.

First year, Winter: paint, relocate battery, K&Ns & rejetting, AI removal, probably countless other knickknacks.

My spending did drop off a bit for a little while, then came the belt drive, corbin and more.

I tell you what I've done,I've made it my own, there's not another one like mine,OK it's red from 02 but thats as far as it goes,I think Triumph looked at my bike before they put the Speedmaster together,I was the first to have a black sprocket cover and foot hangers and that was 5 years ago.Perhaps they'll follow me again because now I have a blacked out control panel, you know, the chromey thing that sits on the tank, looks kool

The changes that made the biggest difference for me were brighter headlight, different bars, and the gutted pipes.

Amen to that. Never realized how much I didn't like my old friends til I got my new ones.

I really like seeing (and reading about) what people on this site have done to their bikes, cosmetically and performance-related. I'm not very knowledgeable mechanically, but I have successfully done things with this bike that I never would have thought of even trying before I found this site. This is a great group of helpful people on this site.

Even my comprehensive list would be fairly short, but the most important things I've done:

AI removal (a monumental achievement at the time)
Added the luggage rack/backrest
Changed to Emgo Vmax mirrors
Hooked up warm grip wraps for winter riding seasons
Replaced the horn
I probably need to wash it more often

Will
