Neil Peart wrote a great book called Ghost Rider.. about how he took to the road on his motorcycle after the death of his teenage daughter and less than a year later the death of his wife. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost_Rider:_Travels_on_the_Healing_Road

Brilliant stuff.
I have a terrible confession to make. I saw Rush live in 1980 (?) at Hammersmith Odean during the Permanent Waves Tour. I thought they were THE most boring band i had ever heard. Since them i have gone on to really enjoy listning to this band, to the point that i kick my self when i think back to how little notice i took of this band when i saw them live.
I blame it on my youth. I was just a spotty teeneage at the time.

Rush: Some great songs, less Geddy Lee's voice. It's like biting down on a strip of tin-foil and pulling .....

I got to see Rush on the Presto & Roll the Bones tour twice. I was absolutely blown away by the musicianship. Neil,Geddy,& Alex were great, 3 of the best shows that I've seen. Also some of the coolest shows I've seen were at Nyabinghi in youngstown at the Emissions from the Monolith festival. 4 days of total heavy rock bliss. One of the many highlights was hearing Dixie Witch do a cover of On the Hunt from Lynyrd Skynyrd.
