Thanks,

Robert Plant appeared on "Austin City Limits" last year. He did a solo acoustic performance. Jimmy Page played in some straight British Blues bands prior to LZ days. He must have been all of ?? years old.

Always liked their style

That would not be Led Zeppelin, John would probably punch all of them in the mouth for this.
Just do like Erwin said, get a DVD. Or close your eyes and remember.
Ok I'm putting in the Top Fuel Dragster Drum solo now.

*Side note, The Police are doing it though. Yep Sting and Stewart. What's up with that? Sting must have fallen.

Some of us weren't lucky enough to be around for them the first time around! I was only 3 when Bonzo died... And they are hands down my favorite band. If I can, I'm goin!! Too bad tix will be like a bajillion bucks a piece.

I disagree completely...Jason Bonham is a VERY capable drummer, and the absolute ONLY choice for a Led Zep reunion...John will be looking down and smilin' at his boy playing all those old tunes, proud as anything.

Page is 63 years old - that's 63 rock star years, which is roughly equivalent to 219 years old for you & me.

Some old news - Bob Seger released an album, and is on tour as well.

Sounds great, only one problem. Is this old news, urban myth wishful thinking. The band split in 1980, release stated they would reunite after 22 years. Uh my math says that would be 2002. Think were past that mark.
Remember how many times were heard the Beatles would reunite!
But I'm holding out hope for a tour, I was old enough to see them the fist go round but to stupid and to stoned to make any of their shows.
PS, Police back together, Eagles releasing new album. sounds like an interesting year

I hear there is also a Beatles reunion tour being planned too. They just need two more bullets.

I'm with Old_Wolf on this one. Jason would be the only choice and is capable.

I'm still waiting for a good show. Page played with a broken finger in '75 and Plant's son died in '77. Understandably, the band was off both times. I'll stick to the recorded music.

IF you guys want an interesting show, check out "No Quarter: Page and Plant Unleaded". Good stuff. I have that and the song remains the same, complete with Plant riding thru the woods in a poofy shirt with a falcon on his shoulder. Have anotha!!

I also have both, plus another double DVD released in 2003 (at the same time as their triple CD "How the west was won") simple called "Led Zeppelin" with around 50 tracks taken from 4-5 concerts. I think Page had kept these recordings in his vaults ... for later use.
4 of the tracks are from the same Madison Square Gardens concert used for the making of "The song remains the same".

Excellent footage!

I'm huge fan of Zeppelin since hearing II on 8-track in an older friends car back in '74 or '75. Actually had tickets to their December show in '79 at the old Capital Center in DC. Of course Bonzo died in September. I remember hoping we'd get our $20 back for the tickets when the show was cancelled (we did). Hooked school and got in line at around 3 AM to get tickets near the front row. My buddies and I were pumped. Now, I wonder how valuable a ticket to the show that never was would be worth? Wish I'd have just saved it, but hey, $20 was a big deal when you only made $2.75/hr or so.

"Song Remains the Same" is a pretty awful "rockumentary" imo. Check out "How the West was Won" for better quality tunes & video.

Plant can't hit the high notes anymore, but I'd probably pay almost anything to see them play live. Seems improbable, but here's hoping.

I caught the Page-Plant concert in Denver in the mid-90's. Good show. Denver Symphony Orchestra and a small Egyptian ensemble they were touring with.=

Then you'll love the DVD. Half is in concert and half is like them hanging out in some town square in india drumming with some locals. Pretty cool!

I never knew he drummed with foreigner! Was it just for that one tour? And you're right...he doesn't need to rely on his name...he's just plain incredible...heard any of his solo stuff from years back?

Never cared much for Led Zep, dont think they'd be worth seeing at todays prices.

They are great. My 16 year old is really into them. Let's see-3 tickets at $1000 each(I live in the NY metro area, you know)= $3000 plus fees, parking, meals. I could be 1/2 way to another bike!

Every once in a while I'll be talkin music with my buddies (I know a lot of amateur musicians...) and we talk about zep, floyd, doors, etc. Then I remind them it's all "classic rock" to us. Think of it in perspective, like what was going on at the time it came out. When was Zep 1, 1968? Something like that? People were listening to the beach boys for cryin out loud! Then to get hit with that? Yow!! Musta been cool

And Aqualung, Janis & Jimi, and The Allmans at their peak - (The Fillmore Concert months.)

My 23 year old daughter has a pretty good ear. Around 10 years ago she heard on our car radio a Jimi Hendrix cut from my favorite album of his - "Band of Gypsies" She said WHO -- WAS -- THAT? - a fairly popular reaction to ones first dose of Hendrix.

Old fart moment - I remember seeing Delaney & Bonnie at a live show when Clapton was working for them. They warmed up for the Ike & Tina Tuner Review. Ike & Tina & The Review all had matching sequined outfits - the big time, to be sure.
