Was going to do a write-up and a picture tonight. I took the tank off, filed the tank hole a little more open. I used the "Seal All" from Advance Auto with the thick paper gasket that came with the kit. However, my K&N gas filter did not come in until last night, so I did not want to put gas in the tank yet. It has been sitting since Tuesday night.
I tried to install the gas filter last night. However, I needed more clamps and I want to reroute it anyways, which I will do when I get home in a couple of hours. I noticed that with 4 wraps of the teflon tape, the petcock lined up like the original. However, having taken out the "hidden fuel filter" and now using the in-line K&N filter, I need to take the Pingle tap back out of the mounting base, use perphaps 5 wraps of teflon tape to cause the petcock output line to face aft rather than inboard, to make room for the gas filter. It will make more sense when I get it done and can post a picture. Thanks for everybody's help.
