Your site has had a huge impact on my decision to purchase a Bonniville America. I've been a silent observer for some time.

I live near Newcastle (Australia) an hour or so north of Sydney. Tomorrow I am flying to Townsville to purchase a 2004 America (2500km North). Then I'm going to ride it home. Probably do it over four days. I should know how good the seat is anyway as I haven't ridden a bike in several years.

Anyway I just wanted to say G'day. After I get it home I'll post some pics.

Hi Rano,

Welcome to the site and congrats to your choice of bike, 2500km will give you time to get to know your new bike for sure!

600 to 700km a day will be like a walk in the park problem is that you might not want to stop once your on the bike just go on and on and on......

Watch out for thoose Kangaroo´s and give us all a ride report when you are home safe!

Well done. Townsville to Newcastle is one hell of a ride, especially if you've been off a bike for a while - must be one hell of a good price to go that far for it!

Six months or so ago I did a 2500km run Bris to Syd and back via every mountain I could find over 6 days. I had a lot of fun, but I guess you'll be taking the straight line highways... take an mp3 player or something.

Hey Rano,

Congrats on getting one of the best bikes on the planet! Don't be suprised that after your four day trek you are dissapointed (to be home) and decide to keep going for another four days! These (the Speedmaster and America) are AWESOME bikes!

Soren

I did Sunshine coast to Central Coast (Tuggerah) in one hit back in 2003, a 10 hour 1000KM trip, I was glad to get off the bike after that. Have also ridden from Central Coast to Adelaide, but did that (1400Km) over 2 days.
Enjoy your ride, and enjoy your new toy.
