Hi guys, I don't own a Triumph yet but I hope that will change during this year After years of desire I will finally take the step to "two wheels". I like the looks of the Bonneville (especially the Black Editon) and the Speedmaster. I haven't decided yet which one to go for, but I hope I can read a lot about those bikes here on the forum. Anyway, nice to meet y'all. Gonna check out the archives now ;-) Keep ridin' King Norre

The Bonneville , regardless of configuration (thruxton,T-100, America, Scrambler, etc) is truly a jewel of a machine with an almost "magical hold" on those who ride them. I'll confess, I love my Bonnie.

Hey KingNorre Welcome! If you decide to go for the SpeedMaster (the better choice btw ... ), also note that the BA.COM Euro Rally will be held in Bankeryd, Sweden (03-05 August) this year. Just thought I would help your decision-making process.

Welcome KingNorre. All you really need to know is that the black Speedmasters are the superior bikes.

OK, got it, a black speedmaster is the way to go !! Seriously, I think I'm gonna visit a dealer soon and check out both bikes. I really like the looks of the speedmaster but the Bonnie has more power and more torque. And more power and torque = more fun, right? Anyway, I'm looking forward to my first Triumph meeting ... maybe Sweden ;-) But before that I still have some things to do ... get a driver's license for a motorcycle, get an outfit, order a bike and the hardest part ... convince my wife, lol !

Hey King, you said "the Bonnie has more power and more torque", I'd take those numbers with a grain of salt, its the same motor...........
Triumph Scrambler Diablo Red & Silver (2014), Arrow Exhaust, FI remapped with TTP #4, 16 tooth sprocket, Triumph Gel Solo seat & Rack, Progressive 440 1" lowered Shocks, SAI & O2 Removal, Airbox Restrictor Plate removed.

What kind of roads do you have where you will be riding? Urban? Open country 2 lanes, Super high speed multilane slabs? Mountains? Lots of traffic? In short, where and how much are you planning to ride? Warren

I read the other day that the average motorcycle owner spends $1,000 a year on 'upgrades.' Seems low to me.

I think I'll use it just for fun in the first place. Unfortunately, there's always a couple of miles on the highway before I can reach the open country. I'm not interested in speed, just relaxed cruisin' enjoying the views and of course maybe once a year a "bigger" trip to other countries.

Okay! I see what's goin' on here! You guys are all tryin' to suck-up to "King" Norre here, in hopes that he'll bestow some sort o' "Knighthood" on y'all, aren't cha?! Well "King", I got's some news for ya. THIS "rabble" MAY know a lot o' stuff about these here machines and all, AND may even "seem" to gladly share some of their knowledge about Triumphs(and the world at large) with ya...BUT...DON'T LET 'EM FOOL YA! They're tryin' to suck you into their little group and you'll very soon find yourself hooked and visiting this here website for their "learned counsel" almost every friggin' day before ya know it!(take it from a guy who knows) Cheers, Dwight (oh BTW, WELCOME...ahem..."Your Highness")
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

KingNorre,
Trust your instincts. You have already considered the Speedmaster (these guys ride the America) and you have already got the colour right (black).

Hi KingNorre, I will be riding past your neck of the wood in May 2007. I can stop show you how beautiful an America is. It's a touch of class. The new Black 07 model has a slight silver fleck in the paint and looks great when the sun hits it.
