So what I'm hearing is that the weights are supposed to help with vibration, solve the endcap problem and give you more room.

Hmm. I guess I'll look at the weights. As to the chrome however- I am planning on powdercoating mine black. Black bars, black weights, but the kuryakin isogrips. Should look pretty tough on the old speedy.
